Lennox's chin was ok, it was not great but it got him through so many thunderous punchers it musta be ok. And dont forget, these are heavyweight, a really big bastards who hit reaaaaaaaaaalllly hard.

If you look at the olden days when fighters got knocked down and while the ref is giving the count the other boxer is standing right next to the ref ready for the next attack.
We have been denied what could have been a diffeerent result had the ref let Lewis continue. Lewis was good defensively and maybe he would have got on his bike. We dont know now.
I was watching Holyfield Bowe 3, and when Holyfield went down flat on his face he was clearly in big trouble, he got up at 9 and a half and wobbled and the ref gave him until 15 until he waved the fight on, lewis got up at 6 and was stopped at the count of 8 versus mcCall, lewis may have recovered but i think that fight made his career strangely enough, he got a better trainer as a result and improved, his career may have ended there if he had carried on and got put down again, who knows, but watching holyfield get potentially hit with more punches by Bowe while in that state was awful, luckily the final shots hit his glove as he was going back down anyway.

I used to hate Lewis, but am starting to think quite a lot better of him of late. His chin was ok, not great but not the glass chin many think it to be. The problem was his heart and his mentality. He became complacent too often which led to him getting hit hard when he shouldnt have. When he was hit hard, he didnt take it especially well and it often threw him wildly off his game plan. Sometimes (like with Briggs) he was able to cover up wisely and get back into the fight. Othertimes, he just hit the deck and wasnt able to fight on.

It was good enough to get him through most blows, but any on the button and he went to pot.

In the Rahman fight he was laughing, and had his hands down. Rock threw his home run straight right, and landed it square on the chin. Not many heavyweaghts in history wouldnt have been knocked out in that situation.

Lennox chin isnt so bad. ANY...I repeat any heavyweight that takes it flush on the beard will go down eventually.

Not glass...just average. He went 10 with Mercer trying to take his head off.

One of them landing 30 seconds before the ko, im sure that shot did hurt him and led to him dropping his hands. These punches in this video should of put him down at least if he was that weak chinned, remember people talk today about tua, briggs, klitschko being the hardest hitters out there!

I agree his chin isnt near as bad as people say. but it wasnt granite either. I'd say it was average or maybe a bit above. of course his boxing ability,,defense and power overcame the avg chin

Tyson thought Lewis had a glass jaw which was the only reason Tyson took the fight. After a few bombs and Lewis was still standing after the 1st round, Tyson knew he was in for a beatdown since Tyson was no longer a championship fighter.
come on man,,,,he was out in the mcall and rahman fights. "the lights were on but nobody was home". they were solid shots that he pretty much walked into so it was no shame. but he was out on his feet

Lennox didnt have a bad chin but for the heavyweight champion of the world it wasnt great. He took sum heavy shots and didnt go down during his career but it definatley not what id call a good chin!
