Who cares? The fight happened, it's over and get over it. Why would you call out a guy who's retire? Just become the best you can be in your division and make a legacy for yourself stop calling out retired fighters. It's very annoying.

Tell that to Hagler, Hearns, DelaHoya, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc. Count up the great fights we would've missed out on if fighters never called out anyone who's "retired."

it is annoying. he should just be concentrating on maskeav and peter. seems like he's been obsessed with this ever since the loss

that fight would be garbage now. lewis has been out for years and he's now 41 yrs old. no point in continuing to push for it. its over

I get the feeling that the main reason why vitali came back is cuz he didnt want his brother to over shadow him. I mean his resume would have surpassed vitali's if he became the undisputed champ.

The fight will never, ever happen, so don't worry about it. Lennox will not fight again.

But I was responding to his "Why would you ever call out a retired fighter?" We'd be missing half of Leonard's great fights if that advice was followed. lol That's my point.

i think vitali chooses to continue to do it as a sign of disprespect to lennox for turning down a rematch

vitali knows it gets under lewis skin to have to constantly talk about it and also to have to admit he is old and fat and whatever the hell else.

If it's a 'one-in-a-million' chance then I feel only giving it 1000 tries would be unfair.

On a serious note though; to sum up my feelings on all of this. Vitali lost fair and square to a relatively old and out of shape Lewis. Despite Vitali winning some rounds and doing damage don't forget the punishment Lewis was hading Vitali as well (the huge uppercut that would decapitate most men). Lewis didn't rematch him because Vitali was a tough fight and he was ready to retire. End of story. Does everybody have to fight until they lose and have absolutely nothing left? We all look back and think of how Louis, Ali, and others should've retired sooner rather than have to fight late into their careers. Some are still doing it; a la Hearns and Holyfield.

The fight is over and done with. I'm angry that Vitali is even bringing this up because it shows somewhat of a lack of class. Maybe Frazier should call out Ali since he feels he was robbed in Manilla. These men will not meet inside the ring again (except to maybe pose for pictures). Everything else is just colored bubbles.

My goodness, you sir are blind! The end of the 6th rd saw lewis nail vitali on the ropes which caused vitali to grab onto lewis`s waist as he fell forwards from lewis`s punch. Then in the corner just before the bell, lewis landed the uppercut again while vitali looked around with a bewildered look on his face and his arms down, he didnt punch back or defend. Lewis even hit him as the bell rang and vitali just stood wavering around, before weaving a zig zag path back across to his corner. But the fact is, during the end of round 6, as opposed to during the break between rds Lewis was punching, vitali was trying to hold on and the ref was noticably having a good look at him.

people will always debate what would have happened had it continued but we'll never know for sure. lennox did have a better last round but they both looked hurt and tired to me. I remember thinking to myself it could go either way here as the round ended,,,but then sure enough the ref stopped the fight. lewis won it fair and square. end of story
