I agree with most of what you are saying. But I wouldn't be surprised if Hopkins could pull out a victory. But if he lost to Taylor and he was barely touched then Wink probably would win. Because he will use his jab more than Taylor did.

Hopkins was able to hang in there with Taylor because they were both not doing all that much. Tarver did absolutely nothing against Hopkins. Winky, on the other hand, is constantly pumping the jab. If Hopkins tries to just pot shot every once in a while and doesn't do too much, Winky will just get the benefit of the doubt from the judges for being more active just like Taylor did. Hopkins is an old fighter and I don't think he could maintain a high punch output for 12 rounds. He sure as hell is not KOing Winky. The defense is too tight...

(ko,tko,ud, whatever, point is, they both one in equally impressive fashion)
is one win more impressive than the other?

I would say that if mayweather dances around and outpoints dlh the way
he did baldomir, then regardless of how winky won, I'd prolly put winky at #1.
If mayweather does to dlh what he did to gatti, then floyd is #1 even
if wright stops bhop.

Hopkins is bigger, stronger, smarter, fights better from the outside and the inside. I don't anticipate Wright winning this fight, but Wright might have it in him to try and outwork Hopkins. Bernard will hit Wright cleanly more than anyone has in the last 5 years...bet that bitches.
