i respect guys like basilio and fullmer, but the other guys that were champ during that era really arent that good. Monzon and hagler dominated thier middleweight division while robinson lost to mediocre fighters like turpin and that guy he lost to in 1955.

Monzon is 15-0 in title fights
hagler is 13-1-1 in title fights, you can argue he should actually be 15-0.
robinson is 8-6-1 in middleweight title fights

I put Graziano in about the same class as Gatti . He's a legend no doubt but he made his name off of his win over Zale and for being known as a exciting but not great fighter.

Hagler lost a controversial decision to leonard, but lets take a good look at champs from the old days and compare them to leonard.

          graziano- leonard would beat him
          zale- leonard would beat him
lamotta- leonard has far more skill than him
pender- easy win for leonard again
basilio- let's see leonard was a better welterweight than basilio, why cant he be better at middleweight.
gene fullmer- ok, he could give leonard problems for sure

so really, robinson and fullmer were the only champs from that 20 year time frame that are in the same league as guys monzon, hagler, hearns and leonard.

GEOFF didnt John Scully fight Nunn?

does that mean you rate him too.?
