Toney starting taking over the fight with Nunn, in the 7th rd.
Lots of people talk about the fight, who have apparently never seen it.
He built up to that dramatic KO.....nailing Nunn more & more with right hands, as each round (after 7) passed.
I should add, that this was a still pretty green Toney knocking the **** outta Nunn.

I'll go with Hopkins, because of how good he has been against southpaws.
If he could not hang with Nunn outside, he'd get inside & rough him up.

Which fight suggests to you that he would change tactics and go rough up Nunn?

I know it is tough to really pinpoint Bernards prime but when he was a beaten man from the outside against Jones he did nothing to combat that, never once jumping in and trying to change how the fight was being fought.

He was a junkyard dog fighting so so opposition right?

Bernard then went on to fight every opponent post Trinidad as if they were the big pucnhing Puerto rican himself.

He was consistently outworked in his fights against Taylor and when he has his chances to turn up the heat against the fast fading rookie he simply did little to nothing and was satisfied.


I like Nunn in a very boring but close decision, Bernard would have lost enough rounds sitting back on the outside-its just who he is as a fighter against top nothc comp.

I know Im a hater but I wasnt always this way with Nard. Look forward to your response your opinion as you know carries a ton of weight with me.

BTW-I went to Geno's and Pats and had steaks at both places...pretty dissappointing I must say-like you told me a while back they are living off reputation.

Nunn couldn't punch. The Kalambay fight was a fluke. Nunn closed his eyes & let fly with that shot. There was no other fight in which Nunn looked like could really punch....unlike Roy Jones, who gave Hopkins a lot to think about when it came to getting inside.

I will just throw away your Keith Holmes example itsw not really what I was looking for and I think you understand that.

But your right about Bernard's account of himself against Jones...I tend to forget how good Jones was at Middleweight and I tend to be a little harsh on Bhop for that performance. I dont think he gassed it at the end and really "went for it" but he fought a killer in Jones and I remember at the time thinking that there wasnt to many middles outside of Jones that would beat Bernard and that was based off of the performance that I in recent years have dubbed dull.

It was dull but it was against the absolute best-hell Nard turned the exciting Roy Jones into a pretty dull fighter himself that night.

I know you said you were disappointed in the South Phila eats......but you did your duty. Now, run up the Art Museum steps & I'll say you've had the full Philadelphia experience...lol.

Those places do live off their reps, & are tourist attractions., at this point. There are hundreds of places all over Philadelphia that absolutely blow those places away.

Im pissed at myself because one of my coworkers went to another cheesesteak place and he said they literally served him half a cow on bread...the steak at pats and genos were small and not very full of meet.

I actually went out to a couple of what seemed like yuppy bars, real good looking people...I was in a cafe that was part cafe part club with blarring music-everyone was very nice looking in this place-cold as **** outside damn!
