If Briggs loses to Ibragimov, will you still consider Briggs as a serious fighter? I will not. There is no reason why Briggs should not wipe the floor with Ibragimov. If he does anything less than that he should give it up.

      PAUL750's sig says the following:

Juan Carlos Gomez was one of the most feared fighters in the world. He ruled the 190lb division. He was blessed with exceptional skills and self belief. Combining a southpaw stance, with a menacing rage, he cut a sway of devastation through the cruiserweight ranks.

A classy boxer, he can switch from destructive puncher, to fleet footed purist. His clinical and methodical style saw him ranked as one of the best ‘pound for pound’ fighters on the planet between 98 and 01.

My question to you is, do you believe this guy will become anything more than a great cruiserweight?

well I tihnk this is clearly what he wants to do but the sanctioning bodies and Don King make it hard for him..

If he is given the opportunity to, yes. He's the most gifted boxer in the division without a doubt. Wheather or not anthing will come to fruition, remains to be seen.

Hopefully it will continue against Austin. If any of you watched those two fights, you will notice how confident Wlad looked in disposing of two big men. There was no fear or hesitation in his eyes.
That was pre-Sanders and Brewster though. Wlad has gone through some serious changes since then and fights completely different. There is hesitation in his eyes. I'm just glad Vitali is back...

That is the troubling aspect of Wlad 2007. Yes Manny Steward has helped him out tremendously with some of the weakness's. However Wlad still looks somewhat tentative in the ring and fights with a safety first mentality. This guy was a path of destruction for his opponents up until the Sanders fight. What he did to fighters like Jefferson, Mccline, Mercer, Shufford, Barrett and Chris Byrd (in their first fight) was simply devastating. He at times looked like a ****ing machine. This fight with Austin is very important. If he destroys Austin then I think you will see the same confident Wlad prior to Sanders because he will have disposed of a guy who is just as big as he is.
