So is his mastery of the basics…the three levels of defense, slipping punches, and fighting off the jab. If a purist is one who appreciates the technical aspects of the Sweet Science, Floyd Mayweather Junior is a purist’s delight. His fight with Phillip N'dou showcased these attributes to a tee.

However, if one definition of “Old School” is that it combines the full book on basics and technical aspects with a violent and malefic dimension (one that reflects a boxer’s propensity to engage in a pier six street brawl), then Floyd still has a way to go.
Great observation & an objective look at how he boxes.

But still, the point is still right. I can't for the life of me understand how some peope ridicule this guy for domination. He dominates somebodies and he is doing it at least 10 lbs above his optimum weight aginst bigger men who outweigh him by 20 something lbs. people expect him to KO these much bigger guys and to bully them and brawl with them, it's amazing. it's like how people compare Jay-z to his earlier work or how they compare Nas to ILlmatic. People want to criticize him because he doesn't do what he did at 130 or 135, how could he, the situation is so much different. people just can't accept greatness, can't appreciate perfection. They have to tear it down and build it up again. People appreciate the person who gets knocked down and gets back up to rise again. They don't appreciate the people who never fall and that is a porblem. Listen, we can appreciate, root and cheer for both!

It's obvious that Floyd is too damn good. He is clearly the best fighter of this generation...

I would agree that Floyd is the best P4P right now. But Id love to see him fight Cotto. It would be a sweet fight.
