Was Mike Tyson a great champion?

It's a simple question, was Tyson great or not? His career is over and now we can look back. He had his ups and downs, but I think when it's all said and done he belongs up their with Dempsey,Ali,Louis,Marciano,Johnson. Maby Tyson wasnt the greatest, but I think he was one of them.

for those that said no i want an explanation.ahaha, dude beat every1 with lopsided scores in his prime and kos without even getting a cut, bruise or swelling. thats near perfect for championship years.it was so bad they had vegas bets to see when he would ko ppl in his championship years and talk about his next opponent even before he fights the 1 he's fighting that night.

That "terrible guy" gave a $250,000 dollar check to a homless woman bagging on the street. I sure wish I knew someone that would give me $250,000, they wouldnt seem too terrible to me.

                no, no, and no.

tyson's fame and reverence came from the fact that he punched people sensless. really, the truth is he ko'd people who any big puncher should and would've ko'd. easy to look good against c or d level fighters.

great champion, no. good champion, no. but, i have seen many worse champions. i suppose mediocre would be a good description of his work as a heavyweight champ.

but how is he not a good champion cause his opposition was low? thats not fair its suppost to be performance not what his opponents were. u cant hate cause they werent par with ppl u think r real good that didnt exist at the time of his reign. he fought the best that were out there.

so if u destroyed "low level" opponents for 3 years straight in more then 20 fights with lopsided scores would u be ok with ppl not calling u great cause they said your opponents that were the only good1s werent good enough? or wouldnt that be ****ed up to judge some1 cause of there era?

Ray Mercer and Evender Holyfield couldnt KO that "c or d" level Larry Holmes.

How many fighters KO'd Trevor Berbick after the Tyson fight? That's right, NONE. Berbick had 2 KO losses in 62 fights.

How about Spinks? Holmes couldnt KO Spinks as well all his other opponants, except Tyson of course.
