What I was actually opening up is how much weight people are placing on it. After all, it's just a fun (how about that?) idea by boxing journalists. But people are placing so much weight on it that they're even using it to justify bouts not taking place. "Well, such and such is P4P No.3, so he doesn't have to fight such and such who is only P4P No.10..."

It's all just bollocks, really. A bit like everything you ever say.

Agreeing on the best boxer in the world isn't a fun game people do for entertainment's sake. There is a best fighter in the sport at any given time and he remains there until he gets knocked off. Roy Jones was up there forever. Then Hopkins. Now Mayweather. You work your way up for your ranking and you keep it as long as you win. That is how all sports rankings work.

Seriously, ****o, go and make a Mayweather thread and beat yourself off in it. I made this thread for DISCUSSION, not so an immature little boy could flame non-stop. This thread is only VAGUELY about Mayweather.

And yeah, actually the fact that Mayweather is a charmless loudmouthed **** who's alledged to have hit women DOES put me off him.

Kind of like how Ali (my favourite boxer) turned people on to boxing by being witty, engaging, charismatic... how about that?

And Floyd potentially top 5 all time? LOL, what a ****ing MORON.

Hey, I never give Ali **** about ducking out of Vietnam when I think it's just pathetic that he did that. Doesn't change how I view him as a fighter one bit. As a fighter, he did his job and he did it well. Do I care that he slept around on all his wives? No.

If that's the case then why doesn't the P4P ranking coincide with the ranking in the divisions, you little dumb****? Floyd was P4P No.1 but not No.1 at 140. Why? Because it's only THEORETICAL that Floyd could beat Hatton, he hadn't done it.

Here's another example... how many boxers have been knocked off the P4P rankings when journalists agreed they weren't as good as they first appeared? (Sugar Shane Mosley being a notable example). What about boxers that haven't improved, but are on there because these same journalists have only just noticed their worth? (The Blow). The bottom line is, the top ten of BOXERS WHO WOULD BE THE BEST IF WEIGHT WASN'T A FACTOR (a THEORETICAL notion, note) is transient at any point.

But then a guy who thinks Floyd ranks higher than Sugar Ray Robinson because "Sugar Ray lost a few and Floyd never has" probably doesn't get it.
