    Interesting, I think the opposite.

I think that Hatton is more of a warrior, much less complacent and over-confident and works harder, most likely to make up for the fact that he's not as technically gifted as Calzaghe.

Of course, I genuinely think that they both have a CHANCE of retiring undefeated even having taken the big fights out there. I just think that Calzaghe's chances are better than Hattons. I really dont see anyone around his weight class who I would rank as a favourite over Calzaghe.

You got it the other way around.

        Calzaghe is thee warrior.

And Hatton is more skilled than Calzaghe, while Calzaghe is the more naturally talented.

Calzaghe is more clearly the more skilled fighter and he also has the better resume overall. Besides, when has Hatton dominated a top fighter as thoroughly as Joe did Lacy?

Calzaghe cashed in on the opportunity to be the first man to derail the Lazy Hype Train. Lacy was never a "top" fighter, IMO. It was more of Calzaghe being the top fighter, and whoopin Jeff's ass.

I dunno. I still think that Lacy will go on to be a top fighter. Which is commendable considering the beating that he took. People who claim that Lacy was overrated before seem to be underrating him now.

Dead on , Calz is making himself seem jealous of all these fighters he keeps calling out .

Not being a fan of either one,I believe I can give an unbiased opinion...

I would go with Calzaghe for this reason...when he fought Jeff Lacy,he was the underdog. Not many people gave him a chance to win...at least not on this side of the ocean. And I'm guessing that the betting parlors over there had made Lacy the favorite.

Has Ricky 'the HugMan' ever not been the favorite in any fight? In other words has he ever really risked anything?
And please don't mention the Kosta Tzu fight...the guy was over the hill and was looking for his last big payday. As we have seen,it was his last payday.

Hatton has been living off that ever since....he has been matched up with inferior opponents ever since and has barely survived.

On the other hand,Calzaghe has kind of hidden himself...fighting this guy from a tv show, which he lost...is abominal.

But at least Calzaghe has an impressive win over Lacy, which is one more than Hatton has.

                    .
Your last point is absolutely irrelevant. You are asking whether or not Ricky Hatton has ever not been the favourite in the fight and the answer is yes...he was a heavy second favourite against Tzu. You cant just discount that because it doesnt fit in with your argument. People could easily come over and say that Calzaghe being underdog against Lacy was ridiculous, cos Lacy was untested.

Come on, dont contradict your own point within a paragraph. How can you expect anyone to take what you say seriously when you have one rule for some occassions and a different one for others?

For the sake of argument, Id rather see a Joe fight any day over a hugger Hatton fight.
