The 2 have such CONTRASTING styles
    that this argument is silly..
If we base it on recent achivemnts.. I would have to go with Hatton..
However if they were in the same division.. I would put my money JC..

I love them both and consider them both to be two of the absolute best boxers in the world (thats what I think, I know that neither of them have completely proven it yet). But out of the two I do think that Calzaghe is a greater talent and better boxer than Hatton.

It reminds me of the rivalry between Roy Jones and Oscar De La Hoya when the two of them were in their primes. They used to take plenty of shots at each other. More Jones, than Oscar because Jones hated how Oscar was treated better by HBO.

To be fair, I'm not sure that the article/interview wasnt a bit misleading. I dont imagine that Calzaghe would've brought Hatton up unprompted. But if someone asked him what he thought of Hatton's performance and claim of wanting to be the best British fighter and the comparisons to their career (especially of Hatton getting to the 'same' point at a younger age) I dont see why Calzaghe would hold back from giving his honest critique.

From what I know, there has never been anything but respect between the two fighters, I've never heard of them taking pot-shots at each other. Its more likely that Calzaghe was asked what he thought about Hatton's fight and he said quite rightly that Hatton looked good for the first few rounds and then for some reason slowed down, which made the fight not as exciting as it could've been.

Yeah? I've never really noticed. What kind of stuff has he been saying? Is it just generally bringing up his name, or is it the type of thing where he is obviously responding to the question being raised in an interview?

Ricky has always been in Calzaghe's corner, routing for him. But Joe has NEVER had much to say about Ricky, I don't know why. There was a definitely a hint of jealousy though I feel because Ricky was earning more money than him. Calzaghe came out in the press last year and tore Hatton down, but Ricky still routed for him at the Lacy fight.

Calzaghe is just a complete prick in all honesty, always has been.

Hatton took a slight swipe at Joe though the other week when he said "atleast I don't go crying about my injuries, if I had a bad hand or something" when the story about his elbow issues leaked.

Haha, how very interesting. I've been completely ignorant to any rivalry between the two.

Calzaghe probably regrets that he didnt get away from Warren when he should have too.

Hatton is the more complete fighter of the two and the better technician, IMO.

But Calzaghe has a far better resume, and is a true warrior.
