Also, i agree with your comments. I do think that Hamed maybe made a mistake parting company with Ingle, and yes, he was a typical Ingle fighter, but relationships break down, it's a fact of life, and allegedly Hamed and Ingle's partnership began showing cracks when Ingle realeased a book about Hamed (called 'The Paddy and the Prince') which Hamed claimed had lots of untruths in. However, i believe that the parting of ways had a more to do with money than anything else.
I got that book last christmas. The book seems rather biased to Brendan Ingle's version of what happened. Was a bit disappointed that it only tells up to the Kelly fight though.

Both fighters where in pretty good shape (on my avatar.) I don't think De La Hoya would fool around with steroids.

As far as i recall Hamed parted company with Brendan Ingle after the Kelley fight. Maybe some day Ingle will cash in on another book giving further insight into his split with Hamed etc.

Hamed still had a pretty impressive record. We always knew that once he took a step-up in class his style would be shown up, but he certainly did well as a professional. Had he taken on board the advice about taking training more seriously and working on his defense and coming up with a plan-b, but most importantly if he'd kept his head in the game, he could have been the best British boxer for a long time and also could just have easily beaten MAB and his ilk as lost to them.

                  His potential really was limitless.

He really wasnt a particularly good talker for all of his waxing though. Far too repetetive, stuttering and irrelevant.

He was incredibally talented, it's a shame he wouldnt work at it. I remember a trainer saying that you sometimes get someone with all the talent in the world but if he won't work at it then he'll get exposed, whereas sometimes you get someone with little natural talent who works extremely hard and gets further than he really should on hard work alone. The real gem is finding someone with natural talent who will work as hard as possible - shame Nas wasnt that!

The Naseem Hamed that beat Steve Robinson was theroetically capable of giving any fighter in featherweight history trouble IMO. Therefore, in theory, how would that Naseem Hamed have done against the Barrera who was defeated twice against Junior Jones?
Quite possibly Barrera may have beaten Hamed at any time in their careers, but both fighters had matured in very different ways by the time that they did meet.
