Paper records don't count in my opinion, and I'm not a big fan of James Toney.....but you have to call a spade a spade.

Toney was robbed against Peter in the first fight, the majority who watched it were shocked at the final decision....I was one of them. Toney whipped Ruiz' ass all over the place in the ring, and his belt was taken away because of his steroid violation. I don't think steroids had a damn thing to do with him beating Ruiz either. Toney's 1 legitimate loss at heavyweight was his most recent fight against Peter IMO. That was also the tell tale sign for him to end his campaign at heavyweight.

Sam Peter.. really what he done to be so deserving of a shot either??.. he has one fight against an ELITE heavy.. and he lost...
I agree strongly here. all this crying over peter getting robbed is laughable. he beat a 38 yr old past his prime toney 1 out of 2 and besides toney,,,he hasnt beaten anyone in the top 20 and was beaten badly by wlad. and this warrants him a shot over vitali who was forced to retire to injuries while he never lost his belt. please

Exactly!! It's Vitali's belt and it's his right to reclaim it. But Afterwards Peter should get a shot at it.

Title Elimination bouts should actually mean something, and I think Peter should get his shot, regardless of how good people think Toney is...

Besides, I wouldnt really want Vitali to come back and automatically fight a champ. We havent even seen what the very long layoff has made him yet, and its probebly better for him to get a kind of warm-up fight first. Even though I still feel Vitali would blow away Maskaev...who knows if hes the same guy he was 2-3 years ago.

            - It's unfair to Peter that Vitali simply cuts in line and becomes the automatic mandatory for the WBC title.

            - Everyone knows a fight between Peter and Klitschko would be much more competitive, as well as move the division closer to unification than a fight between Maskaev and Klitschko. Maskaev is on the verge of retiring.

            - Vitali should use the time in between now and the WBC title fight (which should be Peter v.s. Maskaev) to train and shake off ring rust from being inactive for over 2 years.
Maskaev is kinda like fightin a tuneup for Vitali, but ringrust is real even maskaev can punch, Peter and he should meet either way it works out

In as much as WBC gave Vitali the champion emeritus status, it is also in their power to tell Vitali to wait and let this mandatory fight happen first. That's no brainer and only logical.

In the first place Vitali decided not to fight for so many years, so why then all of a sudden he'll just barge back into the scene displace the guy who worked his ass off for the right to fight for the title?

People who are critizing Peter to justify Vitali's action on this are way out of line. It's not a question whether Peter has a chance against ther title holder or none and definitely the question if Peter is deserving or not is bull**** because we all know he worked for it and earned it.

So I'm with Duva on this one. I'll be happy that he'll file a case against WBC against this "slap in the face" action.

I just want Don King to die of testicular cancer immediately.

After he stabs Jose S. to death during a lovers quarrel.

I dont know if it would fix boxing....

But I know they helped break it.
