    Duva Open Letter to Vitali!

    January 25, 2007

    Vitali,

First of all, if you have a desire to come back to the ring, we welcome you.

However, do not think that we will stand by and allow you, the cowardly champion Maskaev, or anyone else involved, to interfere with Samuel Peter’s right to fight for the WBC Heavyweight Championship.

You can try all the propaganda you want, but it’s not going to work. The boxing media, fans and public are too smart for that. Everyone universally recognizes Samuel Peter’s right to fight for the WBC Heavyweight Championship.

I have always had a great deal of respect for you as a fighter and a person. If you are the man that I think you are and that you claim to be, you will understand and respect Samuel Peter’s right to fight Oleg Maskaev. Hopefully you, Maskaev, the WBC and all other associated parties will do the right thing and honor Sam Peter’s mandatory.

We welcome a fight against you for all the marbles after Samuel knocks Maskaev out. In fact, I’m even willing to sit down with you and your representatives right now and negotiate a deal for when that time comes. However, if you, and all associated with this, continue to attempt to interfere with Samuel Peter’s rights, an even bigger and more expensive fight will occur outside the ring and in the public arena.

I am urging you and everyone else to do the right thing.

    Sincerely,

    Dino Duva

    President, Duva Boxing

    Promoter of Samuel Peter

Lol, Duva is pissed. He talks about how he is willing to sign the fight between Peter and Vitali, ommitting the fact that Don King would want his options on Vitali and this fight would never take place.

I'd much rather Vitali wait untill after Peter knocks Maskaev out.

        - It's unfair to Peter that Vitali simply cuts in line and becomes the automatic mandatory for the WBC title.

        - Everyone knows a fight between Peter and Klitschko would be much more competitive, as well as move the division closer to unification than a fight between Maskaev and Klitschko. Maskaev is on the verge of retiring.

        - Vitali should use the time in between now and the WBC title fight (which should be Peter v.s. Maskaev) to train and shake off ring rust from being inactive for over 2 years.

Anyone who wants to see Vitali knock Maskaev out and get the title quickly.....is simply a Vitali nuthugger.

They would rather see him fight a corpse than a real challenge as well.

I would agree with Duva.. and say let Vitali have the winner of Maskaev and Peter.. EXCEPT..Duva like a ****ing Idiot singed Sam Peter over to Don King.. ANd he needs to realise THATS what this is all about.. I was all for Sam Peter Till Diva made that Fatal error

I am a Klitschko fan.. But I would've still told Vitali to let Peter have his chance first Otherwise

            DUVA you are a moron..

Oh lets not talk about fair OK? otherwise what was James FAT ASS Toney doing being ranked so HIGH and given chance after chance when it was clear the guy couldn't do IT at heavy weight.. at least not without ROIDS..
Sam Peter.. really what he done to be so deserving of a shot either??.. he has one fight against an ELITE heavy.. and he lost...

James Toney probably still is, and was universally regarded as a top 5 heavyweight. Peter beating Toney is more impressive than anything Rahman did to get the title which was simply nothing. He through King inherited the title Vitali vacated and was knocked out by a guy who really didn't even deserve a shot at that title either.

It's a game of who's who, and if you're going to provide a list of solid contenders, I'd take the up and coming fighter with devistating punching power who recently racked up his second win over a future H.O.F. fighter

A guy who has been out of the sport for two years, doesn't deserve to simply jump in line and fight for the title.

No doubt James Toney is a HOFer...
But james Toney as A HW is 3-2-1 1NC with 1KO ..Hardly Championship material..
