Larry Merchant

Nothin recent. I cant remember the last fights he did. But I always thought he was eloquent and always seemed to point out certain things a fighter was doing that the average person might miss. But usually Larry would try and burst his bubble.thats true. I love jim watt. He gets a lot of hate but he really knows what hes talking about. Im not against american commentators in general i think mannys got a good eye for technicalities similar to jim watt actually, but merchant ruins it all. i havent heard jones jr before has he done anything recent?Comment

Entertaining as hell! Funny guy, always tried to make it seem like the fight could easily go the other way when clearly it was a one way beating! Didnt know too much tho. And Lewis? He is "Definatley" The worst!Comment

Especially over the last few years you can see him slipping, call it a combo of old age and being drunk. Cannot believe no one mentioned his fondness for the booze while on the job. Its a well known fact that boxing insiders have joked about for decades.
He was good once but his best days are clearly behind him. Hell, anyone else notice how he barely spoke up much on the Castillo/ Hatton card?
Still one of my favorite Larry lines was in his Douglas-Tyson intro, that the fight was (paraphrasing) "A frog being fed to the snake," and then after the fight chuckling, "Well, I guess that frog was poisonous."Comment
