As an English guy i always feel im missing something when i download a fight with american commentary. What is the deal with larry? he fumbles his lines which are said at about a quarter of a normal speaking speed. He doesnt even strike me as particulalry eloquent or knowledgable so why do hbo insist on him being there all the time? Im expecting people to tell me what a 'legend' he is for one reason or another but why? he pisses me off and ruins a lot of the fights i download

lol...You arent the only one, my friend. Larry is an acquired taste for us Americans; either you love him or hate him. I personally, dont like him. Now, I dont know their names, but I like your British announcers on Sjy Network, I beleive it is? I've heard them mostly on Ricky Hatton fights, and tho a bit biased towards fighters from England, they are top notch.

More than a bit negative...the guy is a grouch! He doesnt seem to like anyone who wins a fight.

The UK commentaters are good but ur right sumtimes they can be a bit biased! Lampley is probably the best! Roy Jones really knows his stuff too! Like El Tempile says Merchant duz hav sum good 1 liners but he aint my cup of tea by a long way!

YES! I've always liked RJJ as an analyst. Big George wasnt the greatest, imo, but was always entertaining. But Roy Jones was the best analyst HBO has had.

thats true. I love jim watt. He gets a lot of hate but he really knows what hes talking about. Im not against american commentators in general i think mannys got a good eye for technicalities similar to jim watt actually, but merchant ruins it all. i havent heard jones jr before has he done anything recent?

Last time I heard Jones was Tito vs Mayorga but he probably dun more since, he called it exactly right!
