Hi, I am new to this forum and after the hitman's performance on Saturday, I am of the firm belief that over the past 50 years British boxers are much better than American boxers, Lewis, Hatton etc

Hagler beat Minter.
Sugar Ray beat....every British guy (if he ever fought one).
Cassius Clay beat the Hammer
A prime Atomic Bull KO'd your Lewis. Later, Lewis had pull him pulled out of rehab and couldn't even KO the crying man.
I could go on. But your claim of 50 years is utter rubbish (as you Brits say).
Its a hard argument considering america has 10 times more athletes than Britain due to the size difference. But apart from Lewis, unless Hatton and Calzaghe have and win some major fights this year id say america has the better boxers. The likes of De La Hoya, Roy Jones Jr, Mosely,Winky Wright,Floyd Mayweather, Bernard Hopkins are in a different league compared to most British boxers.

Tuggers, I have been a long time reader of this forum, and some of the **** that you come out with is laughable
There have been some extremely talented British fighters in the last 25 years like Kirkland Laing, Herol Graham, Errol Christie, Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank, Colin McMillan, Naseem Hamed, Joe Calzaghe, Ricky Hatton and Amir Khan - certainly on par with American's talent-wise, probably better infact. But, for one reason or another, only Lennox Lewis has truly conquered America.
In the 70's Britain had the likes of Ken Buchanan, Jim Watt, John Conteh, Alan Minter, John H Stracey, Charlie Magri, Maurice Hope etc and in the 80's the success continued with the likes of Barry McGuigan, Dave McAuley, Duke McKenzie, Glenn McCrory etc and into the 90's with Paul Hodkinson, none of them extreme talents like the list above that but successful none the less - but still nothings compared to the big time of the best Stateside fighters.
Thats funny because the first thing you said was your new to the forum?????
Anyway, all im saying is i dont think British boxers are better than american boxers, so please dont come back with a smart comment cos i really cant be arsed arguing today. You asked wether people think American or British boxers are better, and i gave you my answer.
I have nothing against british fighters. But if you were to make a list of the elite americans fighters of the past fifty years, and then the elite british fighters of the past fifty years, their is really no comparision.Guy's like Ray Leonard,Hagler,Ali,Foreman,Frazier,Hearns,Jones,Ho pkins,ETC are hard to beat.
Some results to be proud of for the English are Owen Moran crossing the Atlantic and knocking out Battling Nelson (even though Nelson was from European heritage - didn't he grow up in the States?), Jack 'Kid' Berg crossing the Atlantic and beating Kid Chocolate, Nigel Benn beating up the most feared Yanks in the business - one in their own backyard and the other time having to climb back in the ring after 30 secs, and Joe Calzaghe winning every minute of every round against their 'next big thing'.
Yes I am new to the forum as a poster but as I said have been a long time reader.
I expect people to be biased depending on whether they are from America or Britain. As for Lewis only conquering America, how many Americans have conquered Britain?
Bouts like the Benn v Eubank battles from the early 90s epitimises what British boxing is all about. The likes of Khan, Hatton, and Calzaghe are for me the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world right now and Maywhatver his name is has light years to catch these boys
