what??? Pavlik has a knockout victory over contender champion Grady Brewer on his resume!!!!

i dont think you can make much distinction between records or quality of opposition tween pavlik and mirana, both have rather unimpressive number of quality wins

I give this one 2 Pavlik,he has more in his arsenel then Miranda, throws left hooks right hooks huge upercuts,a nice jab,Miranda has that straight right hand thats dangerous, but i aint really seen any other GREAT punch, his gota nice left hook to the body, but the jab isnt all that,i think Miranda could beat alot of guys at middleweight, but for some reason i dont think he can beat Pavlik

How can you judge Pavlik when he hasn't even fought a top 15 guy?
He was floored by Zuniga and McKart. Miranda will destroy him.
I only pray that Arum has the balls to let this fight happen!!!!

Yeah, it's clear that HBO has fallen in love with Miranda.

With Margarito out, I guess Arum has nothing left to offer for the March 3 co-feature, and Showtime has the awesome Vasquez-Marquez fight going on that night, so HBO needs a strong undercard fight badly.

I understand why Arum wouldn't want to let this happen on his show--neither guy is his fighter and since it's his card he would want to showcase a prospect in that spot. But my question is, who could that be? Arum is so adept at getting his young guys on TV that he has spread himself thin, and I can't think of anything good he could put under Cotto-Urkal.

It's a World Championship Boxing card, not BAD, so don't expect HBO to approve any fight involving JCC Jr. or other prospects.

Looking at the Top Rank roster, I can only find two possibilites that haven't just fought and aren't currently scheduled.

            (1) Martin Castillo. Coming off his stoppage loss in Japan last year, Castillo could have a comeback fight, but HBO may not be interested in a comeback fight as the co-feature, which leads me to...

            (2) Joshua Clottey. Obviously this depends on his hand. It may be far too soon to come back (I can't recall the diagnosis), but an intriguing option would be to get an IBF welterweight title fight between Kermit Cintron and Clottey as the co-feature. Now that would make for a solid card, two welterweight title fights and Cintron, like Cotto, is from Puerto Rico. What a great atmosphere that would be.

Maybe Cotto-Cintron on June 9 is a better option than Cotto-Margarito if Antonio's injury will keep him from being 100% for that date.

If Arum can't get something to work that HBO likes, he may have no choice than to let two great young fighters belonging to different promoters go at it on his undercard. HBO would probably promise him more dates in return for allowing it...

Im judging it from what ive seen, and the Mckart fight was a flash knockdown, the Zuniga fight was a knockdown,Zuniga had 16 KOS in 18 fights,it was a war and Pavlik got up to KO him

I haven't been too impressed with Pavlik so far. He's an exciting fighter, who's gotten the job done so far.But I don't give him much of a chance against Miranda.Pavlik's a little to awkward and off balance.I see Miranda stopping him.

Yeah Pavlik can fight but I drew the line a while a go. He's not going to go the distance, in fact that has highlight reel written all over it.

Yes, he did fine in those fights. But these guys are not at the upper level and don't provide much pressure or hit that hard.
I am not saying Pavlik can't hang at the next level, he just hasnt been there yet. And from what I have seen at the level he has been fighting at, he will have trouble.

This Saturday should be a small test. Zerthuche is no push over. He is one of the better fighters Pavlik has faced. If Pavlik wants to make a statement, he should destroy this guy in less than 3 rounds.
