You can say that Zoo was on the slide. But the boxing 'experts' at the time didnt, they still had him as a top P4Per. The odds had it against Hatton. So that makes it more than a 50/50 fight that he won.

You could say that DLH is on the slide now. You could say that everyone is either on the slide or is overrated and that nobody ever really had a legitimate victory. Or you can just take things as they are and as they seemed at the time.

Hatton is still only 28, has a perfect record including a number of victories against belt-holders. He has come over to America and is showing a willingness to fight tough fighters (not in the twilight of his career, but now) and do whatever he needs to do to beat them. Only time will tell if he could 'crack' America. Castillo certainly seems a fight more suited to doing that than a dodgy fight with very little to gain against a risky big bit of wood like Urango. If he has a barnstorming fight with Castillo and brings back his best form, then moves onto someone like PBF or Cotto...then he's done all that anyone really expects of him and that is that. The better fighters are in the US, no doubt at all about it. And Hatton wants to fight them, if he fights them and loses, he has had a great career but never hit the top of the top (beating Zoo is still an excellent high though). If he fights them and beats a few of them, then he deserves to be considered as one of the greats of his generation. If he fights them and wins them all, then he deserves the credit as the best of a very competetive generation. Only time will tell which category he goes into, but in anyones mind (anyone with any sense of realism), he should have already cemented himself as being a great fighter who had a strong career and hit an excellent high that he (and many of his generation) never again surpassed.

Even when Hatton does balloon (something that I wish he'd stop doing for the longevity of his career and the quality of his training), he's still hardly fat. He still undoubtedly does more exercise than 90% of the world, so comments about him being 'Fat' as well as the obligatory school-yard names (Ricky Fatton, Fatty Hatton...etc) are a bit pointless and look a bit ****** to be honest.

a 10 stone fighter putting on between 3 and 4 stone is fat, he ballons between fights, it's just a fact, i'm not disrespecting what he has done, but being unbeaten means NOTHING in the world of boxing, wasnt Jeff Lacy on a hot streak when joe kicked his ass? i think ricky will lose if he fights castillo, unless what we seen from castillo really is him bein shot, if he is then ricky will kick his ass, but if he comes in the way he did against corrales then ricky is in big big trouble

He's not fat, he's actually a very skilled and dedicated athlete. He HAS fought one excellent opponents and a number of 'good' ones (very few people get to hold WORLD titles without being at least 'good' at their sport) and you guys (ie the people who dont like Hatton) surely WANT him to fight decent fighters, not no names, so that if he loses...you can run around proclaiming that he was over-rated and useless in anycase. Or at least if he wins, then he can have his results backing up the claims that his mouth doesnt really tend to make anyway.

          So yeah...your post was poor.
I overreacted i like the guy but come on he is talking way too much lately like how he is gonna be the best british boxer ever (ahead of lewis, benn ect) and he alwso stated how everyone is running away from him and when someone tough challenges him he says he is un prepared

i like the guy but needs to cut that stuff out

I don't think Hatton is trash talking

He's probably being playful. But people who watch boxing closely enjoy chess matches. That's why I enjoyed watching Hopkins because he is so methodical. I have no problems with brawls either though.

And if you want to watch a guy who says Jr Witter as good as ricky, then go and fight a guy with 17 fights, then fight a guy who has been out for a year and has been in more wars than hatton has had fights then watch him....watch him run

I dont see this as talking ****.

Well then Ricky, you become a great fighter by moving up in weight and staying there, not going back down.
