When did I ever say Hatton would "box with him". You're putting my words in my mouth. I am not ****** enough to think that Hatton would be able to outbox Mayweather on the inside. He is a trained fighter, however, and he has technical skill to his game that would cause Mayweather problems.
Reasonably impressed with the Paler last night...

Here here. (or is that hear hear?)
The clinching was a bit much for me at the end. And i thought if Urango continued his body attack, Hatton would have been in serious trouble. Maybe part of the stamina issue was due to the fact that he wasnt able to make a dent in Urango, im sure that really saooed his energy. That and the body shots Urango caught him with.
I think Hatton is vunerable. His defence at times isnt great, and there are still question marks on his overall game. Im sure he was better a few years ago. Before Tszyu.Comment

He very possibly was. We havent seen him back in his proper form since then, he's been too busy trying to make different weights or fighting southpaws stronger than him and as such hasnt been able to go to his usual game. It might be that he never will be able to again and will have to rely on good boxing for a few rounds and then coasting through to the end until he faces a superior opposition, I dunno. Here here. Castillo will be a better fight for his usual style than either of his previous 4 encounters (and the only four that the American audience seem to have seen). Its a much closer battle strength wise, it'll be a more comfortable weight (or preparation for the weight at least) for Hatton and its an orthodox fighter. I think that you may see Hatton back close to his best against Castillo (especially considering how average Castillo was last night) and could be a good build up match for Hatton before going for his career defining fights.
If he isnt back to his best and is as sluggish as he was last night, then he will have problems.
A lot of the Americans on here need to realise that Hatton does not usually fight like he has in those 3 of his last 4 fights. The clinching was largely a tactic he adopted to get past Tzu and seems to be something he is relying on a bit too much lately. Partly cos he is fighting awkward southpaws, partly because they are stronger than him and are wearing him down. Thats just something he is going to have to get used to. I dont think that Hatton had fought too many people stronger than him in his career and certainly few as strong as Urango, so he got tired out really easily whereas exceptional stamina and endurance have been a big part of his 42 victory impressive career so far. It may just be that he needs to get used to fighting somewhat better opposition, 4 title fights in the past 4 fights (regardless of all this 'worst champion of them all' lark) is certainly a step-up from what he was fighting before Tzu.
He's a durable little sod, I'm sure that he'll adapt soon enough. Castillo should be a nice style for him. If he can get his training sorted out I dont see why he cant start to impress again. The Hatton I know is much more like the Hatton of the first 4-5 rounds of last night and not at all much like the Hatton of the last half of the fight.Comment

I agree. Pretty much the white people in this thread are already prepared to take a standoffish additude furthering the ridiculousness of the accusation as if it were legit.Comment

how do you come to these conclusions? most "thug fans" being all the way out in the UK how do you come in contact with american thugs, and then question them on their boxing knowledge, that makes absolutely no ****ing sense and without a doubt, is a ridiculous generalization based on ****in nothing.Comment

Exactly!!! He brings race into the argument by saying that "thugs" don't like Hatton because he's "WHITE" & "POLITE". His generalizations show his ******ity.how do you come to these conclusions? most "thug fans" being all the way out in the UK how do you come in contact with american thugs, and then question them on their boxing knowledge, that makes absolutely no ****ing sense and without a doubt, is a ridiculous generalization based on ****in nothing.Comment

He's in your league Brooklyn, just a touch below mine. Unfortunately for me.
Seriously, I liked how he opened Round 6 with a low blow. He is a dirty fighter, but he's a winner. He took a beating for half a round, and he came out to send a message. Then he recommenced boxing. His foot, hand, and body movement is terrific for someone you see described as a pressure fighter. He fights each fight differently.Comment
