Arguello peaked at 130 and was out of his depth against Pryor who probably had to cheat with a spiked bottle to beat Alexis.

wow he lost to all those guys when he was past his prime way past his prime is it his fault there throwing him money for big fights when he is 33, he beat the best guy in the biggest fight, prime duran beats all those guys anyway even though he is a lightweight, benitez and duran had two common prime oppnents, palimino and leanord, benitez got a split decison agaisnt palimino and koed agaisnt leanord, duran won every round agianst palimino and a ud agaisnt leanord, you judge fighers by what there capable in there prime, im not even trying to take anything away from AA its just duran is better, people are always talkiing about hearns and hagler, talk about bucanon, marcel, dejesus palimino and leanord, prime oppenents, duran was champ in 1972 not 1984

          ruben olivares
          bobby chacon
          ruben castillo
          cornelius edwards
          jose luiz ramirez
          ray mancini
          billy costello
          ronaldo navarette
          rafael limon
          alfredo escalara twice
          jose legra

Thats alot of great/good fighters to have on your resume, you notice duran loses to most of the good fighters he faces.
Olivares was beating him till the tko. Olivares beat Chacon first and imo, he got beat by Ramirez who put him down too.

I don't know much about his other fights, but i've seen him against Costello, Arguello looked baddass in this fight. The Mancini fight if i remember correctly Mancini was having his way for awhile before Arguello picked up the pace and droped the bombs on Mancini.

Arguello is among my alltime favorites, but Duran was the greatest latino fighter, imo. First, Duran is among the top ten all time in p4p lists and top ten in greatest fighters ever. Arguello isnt on anyones all time top ten list. So how is it possible that he out rank Duran in a a top ten latino list?

Now I agree that Arguello doesnt get the recognition that he deserves and is underrated by many. And Arguello EASILY beats out Duran and near everyone else as a gentleman in and out of the ring. The guy was pure class.
