Id like to see valuev beat even "shot" former champs than the douchebags he thinks hes beating the record with.

Try this "Shot" list and tell me how Value-Size does.

    1.Evander
    2.Tua
    3.Oliver McCall
    4.Corrie Sanders
    5.Michael Moorer

Yea. Maybe shot. But I would take everyone on this list over Valuev.

Why are they promoting this as the heaviest fight ever? There are certainly many more. To find a quick one I just typed in Butterbean (Eric Esch)

7/22/2004 Esch TKO 1/4 Salvador Farnetti. Both weighed over 300 pounds.
It probably is the heaviest championship fight ever

As for Rocky Marciano, I dont think anyone would argue that he didnt fight a decent boxer until his 35th fight versus Rex Layne. He won the championship versus Walcott who was 39 years old at the time, and who had been boxing professionally for over 20 years prior to their first bout. Ezzard Charles was certainly past his prime but still a great fighter. Joe Louis was at least 137 years old at the time those two fought. Archie Moore had been boxing for 20 years before he fought Marciano, but he was light heavyweight champ 5 years after that and fought Ali too. that's not to say Marciano wasnt a legend, he is.

In additon to this, Rocky fought the top fighters out there, regardless of how good a few e-thugs think his opposition was, he didnt duck anybody and held on the the HW championship in a competitive era.
Valuev now isnt even trying to make fights with the other 3 champions or top ten contenders.
          Its embarassing.

Valuev in no way deserves that record. Valuev hasn't fought anyone that is much worthy of mentioning. What a shame.

I'd give McCall and Sanders a good shot. Tua is a maybe, if he can land the hook, but Moorer and Holy don't have much of a chance I don't think.

Holy shouldn't even be fighting, that's my view on him. He's been taking tremendous punishment for decades now, and he may go down in history as the most brain damaged fighter of all time in another eight years or so when all of this recent damage makes itself apparent. Great warrior who's just outside the top ten for me but he has nothing to gain by fighting on. Valuev would put the hurt on him I think. Even a guy like Brock would IMO.

As for Moorer, his chin has always been his weakpoint and I think Valuev could hurt him with even the jab. He wouldn't risk swapping power punches with Moorer, he'd just bust him up at the end of his long heavy jab. WHAM, WHAM, WHAM, CRASH is the sound of Moorer's glass chin after Valuev finds a home for his right hand or the uppercut. Valuev's got an underrated punch. It's not gonna knock a guy out lickedy split in the first round but he has very heavy hands and just landing on you with any degree of force or snap starts to hurt most heavyweights after a few rounds. Moorer's chin is just awful and I think the effect of Valuev's punches would be even more dramatic.

I think Valuev is bad but not that bad.

It would be one thing if he actually had any skills, but since the ONLY thing he has going for him is that he is a GIANT, I will never be impressed. Besides, who has he been in with that can be considered as a top fighter?

He beat tyson and bowe, yet that's not good enough to make him top 10, get real. Either way ring mag recognizes him as top 10, so w/e. The 1996 tyson would still destroy those chumps that dempsey beat, its not even a comparison. Holyfield beat 12 heavyweight champs and 5 cruiserweight champs, thats better than jack johnson defending his belt against bums and middleweights.

Unless Valuev steps up the competition, Marciano will still hold the record in my book. Just like how Roger Maris holds the record for the most homeruns in a single season.
