Watching Wlad vs Peter again...

He is fast for his size....He sure as hell aint fast though. I mean look at that jab of his. It's real stiff but it is also really slow. And lately all he does with it is paw with it.I dont listen to anything the clowns on HBO say. I watch fights with my eyes not my ears. all knowledgable boxing insiders and trainors marvel about wlads handspeed. freddie roach,, manny steward,,and Al bernstein are just 3 examples. so you clearly have only watched him at his worst or you dont like him and are being biased. which one it is I dont know
He has considerable height and reach over all of his opponents which is why it lands easy.
He's the best HW of a BAD bunch...big deal.Comment

....Wlad's footwork has been very good at times. It was great in the Byrd fight, not so good in the Peter fight. It tends to go downhill when he's tired, hurt, or panicked. His hands are very fast. Ask any heavy that's had to deal with his speed. How does he easily touch one of the most elusive heavies of this era in 2 fights?? Don't say it's his reach either because Byrd has handled guys with longer arms than Wlad and was able to keep from being consistently hit. If your legs and footwork don't put you into proper position then you can't throw the punches that create the damage. How can you have **** footwork and be a succesful heavyweight who knocks people out?Comment

It was easy to catch Byrd because Byrd had to get inside in order to beat Wlad. He didn't even try to get inside. Byrd's inside game is foreign too him which is Why Wlad picked him off.....Wlad's footwork has been very good at times. It was great in the Byrd fight, not so good in the Peter fight. And yeah...Wlad's footwork isn't good. He's off balance alotof the time and clumsy. Also, like I said he doesn't move in and out and i've never seen him actualyl close the gap to get a guy with an uppercut (by the way, which he never throws). His footwork is totally non existent.Comment

....He actually added the uppercut a little in the Brock fight. Interesting you should bring that up because he is about to really start using that punch IMO. If Manny could just teach him how to sneakily hold the back of his opponents head with his left hand and then pull the head forward into his right uppercut, he would have the Lennox Lewis manuever down pat.Comment
