De Leon's KNOCK OUT of the Thai in the first round is a non-factor. That was a lucky shot. The Thai was hit right in the button in the first round with a punch that includes the whole body weight so it's not suprising. If that fight lasted a couple of few more rounds the Thai could also have given De Leon some problem.

Well as to Bautista's chin we will see how IT WILL TURN OUT.

Actually, I do not gauge Bautista's chin on that KD in the hands of Espinoza. I think he has better chin than that episode tends to show.

I always remind myself that Ali was kd'd by lesser punchers than Foreman and Liston, but he took what Foreman and Liston had. Frazier's left hook too.

As for Bautista's heart, I remind myself too of that story told about the time when he was a lot younger, he walked home several miles with a sharp bamboo stick stuck to his bleeding head. If that's not "heart", then, I don't have a clue what heart is, pal.
I agree with you pal. Somehow, he gonna get tagged by that vicious de leon blow. As Joe louis said, you can run but you cannot hide. My first time to hear about that story and that indeed is a story about heart. Here is my gesture of thanks for that nice story which I hope will make your heart beat faster. haha!!

The 1st round KO was in their second meeting, wasn't it?

I think they went the distance in their first meeting and De Leon was KD'd by the Thai in the 2nd round.

Before that, De Leon was also KD'd in the 8th by Celestino Caballero.

WOW!!! That got my pulse racing! Thanks buddy! Boom Boom Brook Burke Bautista, eh? THAT"S A TON OF "B's" in there! I hope BOOM BOOM shows he's an A-grade fighter! Ha! Ha! Ha!

Actually, the story was told to me when I first heard of Bautista. And then I read about it during one of my visits to the Philippines in one of your newspapers.

I know bro, I just hope that boom boom won't be caught by such lucky punch. The thai was able to last 12 rounds with daniel during their first meeting so it was really a lucky punch but man that was a very powerful shot not unlike the one barrios unleashed to the body of nagy which was proved nothing by guzman when they fought.

hahaha!!! I guess I'm stuck with the internet so much to miss that kind of a story. I read about rey's life story but I miss this one which is a stuff for urban legends.

Ha! Ha! Ha! I've got one story ahead of you, buddy! Who would have believed it! Ha! Ha! Ha!

Actually, people in that resort island in Bohol, Panglaw (spelling?)-- particularly Bohol Beach Club-- repeat that story whenever the name Bautista is dropped.

                    Hi there Miron, buddy!

I'm sure a lot of the people in the Visayas know about the story.

I heard it, then read about it. Since then, I've heard the story again a few more times.

In a post here on BoxingScene some time back---possibly early last year-- I mentioned that I heard and read that story.
