Toney can still win a title but it may be best to retire unless he can get down to a lower weight division, at this age he is going to have too much difficulty against the top heavies.
I also feel bad for Roach, he seems in worse shape.
Peter has improved and appears to be a nice guy who has a chance to unify.
This fight was not even close. Toney looked slow and awkward. His age is showing. I had it 10-2 Peter. Toney was hurt several times, knocked down by a jab. The Judges had it right on the money.

Peter basically out smarted Toney in every way. When Toney wanted to go to the ropes Peter just stood in the center of the ring. When they did go to the ropes Peter stayed at a distance and threw combinations.

Peter's jab bothered Toney all night and his righthand was landing with much more accuracy. Toney was out boxed, out fought and out smarted.

Easy decision for Peter. I had it 10-2

I think Toney in the end knew he was losing, and knew that he couldn't knock Peter out so he just wanted to end the fight on his feet, Peter improved drastically from the last fight and wouldn't fall into Toney's traps. Toney didn't have a bad performance, Peter just executed his fight plan perfectly.

          1. How much of it was improved Peter and how much bad Toney?

I honestly think Toney was trying to do exactly what he did last time around, but Peter wasn't letting him, he was using his jab & wasn't close enough for Toney to land as well as last time around

          2. What, specifically, did Peter do to up his game; how was his technique improved? Did he use the jab more? Was he more focused on landing straight punches as opposed to winging in big shots?

Like I said Peter was using his arm length advantage & the jab very effectively, the distance gave him a better chance to land his shots more accurately, & he also threw combo to punctuate the round. Toney was only landing clean body shots & hard overhand rights that Peter would eat up & keep coming.

          3. Did Toney look like himself or has age or something else caught up with him?

Toney's always gonna be his arrogant self, he thought he won the fight, even though Roache was being honest & telling him he was behind on points & that he needed to put him away, but Toney didn't seem like himself, the reason behind that is for you to decide, personally I think Peter had alot to do with it.

          4. What was the one feeling you took away from this fight that really stands out in your mind?

That I had completely & totally underestimated Samuel Peter, it funny I thought Toney would come with a better tactic this time around & Peter would simply fight the same way as he did last time, but I was 100% wrong. Peter looked like a much more well rounded fighter then a few years ago, I was thoroughly impressed.
