For one, he was supposly takin steroids thru-out his entire carear up untill he came back from heavy-weight and got KTFO by both traver and glen johnson. ****ing cheater

Second, if you take roy jones speed away, he has no defense ( i say it in the same way hopkins said it) and thats the damn truth.

Third, the fact that he got KTFO badly ( i thought he was dead) by two B+ class boxers

    Ehl oh El.

Pretty decent champ versus all time great there. That's end of conversation.

As for Toney/Griffen fights, I was not the only person that had Toney winning both fights, most people had Toney winning both fights.

Jones did lost because he fouled Griffen in the first fight and a fight that he might of lost, the ref did the right thing in that fight.
I remember those toney griffin fights. they were both close,,,I remember thinking toney won one of them. I think it was the second one? not positive though,,that was quite a while back

James Toney and Roy Jones Jr. are both great prize fighters. Its hard to say who was better. Styles make fights, and Roy speed and movement was all wrong for Toney. I think James probably faught the better opposition but Roy would always give Toney trouble in a fight. I don't know, it really depends how you look at it...

Simply put....Toney never came near the level of dominance Roy did.

In his prime, Roy might have been the greatest fighter of all time prototypically. You can look back in the past at the all time greats like SRR....and you'd see historically why they're considered better.

When you take the goggles off (not referring to you), and re watch prime Roy compared to the old time greats......he just looks like a well tuned version of the best things they did.

If there was 1 thing I had a problem with when it came to Roy....it was the idea that at times he only threw 1 and done combos.....like jump in with an uppercutt and back off. Regardless....what nullifies that is that he's the most accurate puncher that has ever laced up gloves anyways.

Shattering Compubox statistical records for punching accuracy.

Hey Run, RJ is my favorite boxer ever. I agree with alot of what you said but lets give Toney his props aswell. Toney won titles from 160 to 195. And had some good battles at heavyweight, even though he didn't win all of them. Plus he had great defense and one of the best chins. Toney backs up 75% of the **** he says, not all but he is tough and a great boxer.

Yeah but Roy was getting older when Tarver and Johnson got him. You have to take that into account. Roy is speed fighter, when the speed started to go he started to get caught. Toney is a different kind of fighter.
