Hopkins Hopes For Roy Jones in 7/21 Return

Bernard Hopkins, watching the Samuel Peter-James Toney rematch from ringside, spoke with boxing scribe Dan Rafael, and informed him that he is not returning for one fight, but for three fights.

The first bout was originally scheduled for July 14, on HBO pay-per-view, but HBO moved the date to July 21. Hopkins told Rafael that he is in negotiations with rival Roy Jones, Jr. for a long awaited rematch on the July date. Hopkins still has the itch to avenge a 1993 decision loss to Jones. [details]

Thats why boxing really pisses me off sometimes. Hopkins and Calzaghe should already have a deal done for this spring. Now he wants to waste his time with a fighter who is clearly shot, and it will probably be a ppv. I hope Jones wins.

Weak move by Hopkins trying to rematch Roy now, when he didnt want a piece of him years ago.
I hope he wont think it is revenge or wipes out his previous loss.
