  • anybody else notice how deteriorated Freddie Roach looks?

I'm surprised by how much his condition has worsened in such a short time. He seems to have much less control of his speech and hand movement than in the Pac-Morales fight. Very sad.

Is it just from punishment he took in the ring or does he have a diagnosed condition?

I've heard he was a real tough SOB in the ring and took a lot of punishment in his career. None of this is confirmed but it's the word on the street.

He was diagnosed with parkinsons...It would be believed to be from his fighting as it's cerebral related though actor Michael J. Fox has it as well. I don't remember him ever strapping on a pair of gloves. Eitherway, it is sad. Though...it's nice to see him continue to do what he loves and he'll most likely do it until the end because he said it best, "I'm not gonna lie down and die, I'm a fighter and I'll be a fighter till the end, I don't want anyone to feel sad for me because I'm very happy." -Freddy Roach

Yes he was a contender back in the day......................................Prior to becoming a trainer, Roach was a journeyman fighter that didn't have the size or power to compete at the championship level. Roach did not come up victorious in bouts with any big name fighters, but dropped fights to former Super Lightweight champ Bobby Chacon, former Lightweight champ Greg Haugen, and boxing legend and former Lightweight champion Hector Camacho.

Recently, Roach has developed Parkinson's Disease as a result of his lengthy boxing career.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freddie_Roachhttp://www.boxrec.com/print.php?boxer_id=003014
