He will KO Maskeav early in this fight i think, Maskeav doesn't have anywhere near the chin, the defensive skills or the ring smarts of Toney, Peter KO 6.

I think Wlad will beat him though, after seeing some of his fight again recently, Wlad is starting to grow on me....

LMAO@ Astalavista. Emmanuel will have Wladimir ready for Peter, and I think Wlad would win a close decision against Peter. Also will Peter be able to stand up to that punch that Wlad set up against Brock and KOed him with.

Peters by wide UD was better than Peter by KO/TKO

First of all, lets give a hand to Toney. Blessed with confidence, skill and pure toughness. Former Middleweight able to stand in there with a solid, strong, powerful and young TRUE HW puncher with a rock solid chin.

For Peter, he has improved a lot. He kind of reminds me of Jermain Taylor, but with more improvement. His punches were more accurate and straighter. His jab is a killer one the more he uses it. And for a man his size, he doubles and triples his jab. That slick little ducking move he did off the ropes in the later rounds put a smirk on my face. His combinations were surprisingly fast, although some of them on the ropes seemed wasted.

Props to both me. Toney for hanging with that big man and Peter for actually improving his fight game and showing he can do more than just single punch.

He IS better for the division in the future as much as I like Toney.

Vs Maskaev, I expect Peter to win. However, Maskaev is a veteran and CAN punch despite what Al said. So Peter still needs to bring his A game and not get hit with many right hands by Maskaev.

THAT was NOT the same PETER and that was NOT the same TONEY!!!

First of all, what an improvement over last fight by Sam Peter. He threw in very nice combinations, connected with more legal power shots (lots of illegals though) and started throwing punches that we never see Sam throw.

But most importantly, peter never let the smaller toney get in close and counter effectively. He fought like the bigger man and he did a great job.

That knockdown was a knockdown, but Toney was certainly Off Balance.

Peter is becoming a force to be reconed with.

But this isnt a Dead TONEY that just fought. that was a very skilled toney that didnt have the stamina to do anything great for even one entire round. I am one of the guys who thought Toney was in particularly good shape, or at least better shape, for this fight.

But he showed that even though he may have been stronger, he was definetly still WAAAAAAAAAY over weight. The guy should be at 215 or even at 210!

A 15 pound lighter James Toney beats a lot of these guys in the heavyweight division. I definetly would like to see James Toney fight on. But he's to old, to far out, and to lazy to get a title ever.

I have no respect for James Toney right now.

He knows he got his ass kicked but yet he still talks **** and even said he's never been knocked down.

My full respect goes to Peter right now because he said nothing but nice things about Toney before and after the fight and even said he wasn't the best heavyweight.

i think toney could have overtrained for this fight, but it's probably more like he made a mistake in judgement to try and brawl with a stronger guy, he should have planned on being the smaller, quicker, guy not standing and trading. fire his shots and get the **** out of the way

Peter's jab was and can continue to be phenominal. It is not only strong and straight, but it is long and he doubles/triples up with it...

I hope he keeps that up...he knew he HAD to vs the skill of Toney...but what happens when he steps in with a fighter not as skilled...that is not as great a defender as Toney...will he revert back to wildness and no jab to end it early? I hope not...
