.....Toney needs to call it a career. And what a career it was. He looked old as hell and badly beaten tonight. He needs to take what little brains he has and whats left of his coherent speach(which isn't much) and kick back and enjoy life outside of the brutal sport of boxing.

Yeah i noticed Toney's speech sounded a little more slurred then before the 1st Peter fight, Toney can still be competitive with most HW's but i think his HW title hopes are over, i think he is far from washed up but maybe he should call it quits and just chill with his family.

You Toney nutt huggers are unbelieveable. So you applaud a man coming in overweight and not ready to go all 12 rounds? He never got himself in condition for the fight and came in to collect a check. Yet you turn a blind eye. I can't even believe you consider yourself a boxing fan

Just because people (a lot of boxing fans) respect Toney and his skills does not make them nuthuggers.

That right there should turn the question on you. I can't believe you call yourself a boxing fan. A nuthugger would be someone who just as you said, blindly is a fan of a guy.

I never said I was a fan. But I am a fan of his abilities and skills. If you really believe he just came to collect a check you should start clamoring about PBF, he is the one doing that the most in this sport.

Toney came because of ego, it's not about the money for that guy. You can't even get that right man.

Toney was and is a great fighter. He's kind of an *******, or at least his public persona is. It's pretty hard to disregard his skills and accomplishments. The nut huggers are one extreme, and you are the other. Both wrong in their own way.

You're so wrong with that assesment, I WAS a Toney fan. The badass Toney that use to dominate the middleweight and supermiddleweight division. The Toney that use to take his craft seriously and came prepared to fight.

Great comment. That was my point. If someone claims to love boxing so much you should be able to respect other fans opinions. A nuthugger would be one extreme, someone who can even find room for discussion is the other extreme.

I'd appreciate if he came into the ring in better shape as well. But he always gets in the ring and fights head-on. To say he came to collect a cheque is a little outrageous. If he wanted to do that, he wouldn't have bothered getting up in the 2nd round. I'm sure he gave it his best, which is sadly not up to his old standards.
