i say Toney won but it wasnt a schoolage because 1 he gave Peter some round espacially the end of the 20 sec in nearly every round.
Lacy- Calzaghe is schoolage and PBF-Gatti is schoolage too but not Toney-Peter.
Peter is abit unexperince when he stunted toney he didnt attack with furries which he should have done this time he should do it becaue even metalliy is going to effect Toney. HComment

Am I the only one that remembers all you SammyPete testicular leeches screaming at how toney was going to get knocked out? How this young up and comer was going to finally shut Toneys mouth?
If the Nigerian Sloth cant knock out an ex-middleweight in 10 rounds, hes not the savior of boxing you want him to be.
If he were HALF the amazing dynamite fisted future of boxing you all claim he is...THERE WOULDNT BE A NEED FOR THIS THREAD.
So here is the problem....some of you talk MAD ****e about Toney. Then your african love child cant put him away. So either Toney is better than you want to give him credit for....or Sammy Pete sucks works than you want to admit.
Do tell me...which is it?Comment

First of all let me just say that I wasn't one of the people you are talking about. I like both fighters and kept to myself before the first fight.
Now, there was really no way of knowing that Toney had such a great chin to be able to take such hard punches. He has fought at HW for a while but has never fought anyone as strong as Peter. Of course Peter fans/Toney haters are going to think that he's going to get KO'd. It is a little like Ouma-Taylor. Nobody knew Ouma would be able to take those shots until the fight happened. I think everyone has pretty much admitted that Toney is better than they thought he was, especially his chin. But nobody, not even you, can honestly say that they knew Toney could take Peter's punches as well as he did.Comment

I didnt know how well he would take them.
I just thought the idea of Peter knocking him out was a joke.
So did any other Toney fan who realizes he has one of the best chins in the sport...at any weight.
But still...you make some reasonable points.
Not bad.Comment

EDIT: Yes Peter looks in great shape!Wow! Peter looks like he is in the best shape he has ever been. I hope Toney is in at least good shape... Like 225-230 and this will be a great fight. The one way to beat Toney is to keep pressure on him constantly like Jirov was doing in the first half of their fight. If Peter doesn't tire out he should win if Toney is still fat. If Toney is in decent shape he wins again by UD. An inshape Peter still has no skill, but he does look ready.Last edited by GunStar; 01-04-2007, 01:38 AM.Comment

The thing is, Toney did not take a lot of punches in that fight. He rolled most of them and took only a few, one of them being that shot on the back of his head. Toney DOES have a granite chin, it's the same shot that had Wlad on the canvas twice but Toney held his and did not go down.First of all let me just say that I wasn't one of the people you are talking about. I like both fighters and kept to myself before the first fight.

If Toney comes in around 220, it should be a walk in the park for him.Comment
