Peter looks in shape and ready...

    Peter peeling off the pounds!

Do not expect to see as much of Samuel Peter this Saturday, when he fights James Toney on SHOWTIME at 10 p.m. ET/PT. Peter, you will notice, has lost a considerable amount of weight. He tipped the scales at a career-high 257 pounds before he won a controversial decision over Toney in their exciting September 2006 slugfest on SHOWTIME. But in recent weeks Peter has quietly and diligently been peeling off excess poundage as he prepares for Saturday's 12-round rematch at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla. "This is the best and hardest training camp of my career and I am solid as a rock," Peter said. "Much has been made of Toney's new, super training regimen and supposed low calorie diet, but I don't care and it won't matter what he weighs. I have been running four miles every day in addition to my usual hard, gym workouts. I am in the shape of my life. Toney will pay the price on Jan. 6." when will you people realize that Toney is 38+ years old and he is not what he once was at middleweight, light heavy, and up...

He looked good against Jirov, great against an injured Holyfiled, but I think he was done once he started to gain weight after that Holyfield bout..

          It's over for JT..

I hope Peter wins - its not good for the sport really if one of the best contenders gets beat by a 38 year old ex middleweight. But I must admit I see Toney winning a decision - he should have won last time but got robbed IMO.

I imagine stamina will still be a problem for Peter going into the late rounds. If Toney can make it past the 9th, he will win.

Also if at 220 pounds, Toney takes a punch like he did in the first fight. He has to be top 3 chins of all time right?
