This would be an explosive fight against Manny if it was made. Valero would train his ass off to prove he's no joke, and Manny, well Manny wants to end his KO streak and not be another victim or he'd look like a joke. You can notice Manny puts his working habits according to what his goals are. He couldn't lose against Morales 2nd time and learned his lesson from the 1st fight so they completely fixed that and he trained his ass off. Then for the 3rd fight, he heard Morales talk about not feeling power, he made sure he trained so Morales would feel it. Against Valero, he'd train his ass off and it would be fireworks for sure. MAKE THIS FIGHT HAPPEN! They want a fight in Macau, now they got one!

At first I wasn't sure why you mentioned Barrera's plate in his head, though ya, got you. As far as the fans being scared. I'm sure most of his diehard fans are(aka Filipinos). Myself not being Filipino and just a fan, I would LOVE TO SEE THIS FIGHT. It would be good for boxing and has to happen. I personally don't see Edwin Valero winning because once the fight gets abit more technical, I think Manny can outclass him, though in the early rounds, it will be a shoot out and very interesting to see whose got the greater heart. I could see both going down. Let's see how many times whoever keeps getting dropped gets back up. Manny's chin will be tested again, something it hasn't been in awhile. A true puncher is up at the plate.

I respect your post. And i too would like to see this fight. Though i too think Valero is a bit raw, power, power changes everything and we know "El Inca" has power. And he has great technique but for some reason he seems to like to brawl in a contested match.

                    29-4-2. (Micheal Lozado)
                    21-8-1. (Genaro Trazancos)
                    17-8-6. (Hero Bando)
                    1-6 <----What? (Jose Hernandez)
                    0-9 <----WHAT?? (Edgar Mendoza)
                    2-8. (Danny Sandoval)

These are 6 records of fighters he beat. Look at those numbers. He knocked out a guy who was 0-9 in the first round. Hmm. Everyone starts out fighting chumps but Valerio is doing it just to gain notoriety. That top record of 29-4-2 is of his last opponent. These men come from all over the world- Colombia, Venezuela, Japan, Panama. Oh wait, want to see the American he fought? :

Emmanuel Ford: 6-27-3. 6 wins. 27 losses. 3 draws. Six wins to 27 losses.

These aren't just fighters from his backyard. He is targeting chumps. Please, please tell me someone else sees that it is VERY premature to say Valero has the best bet to beat Manny. Pacquiao has been fighting Marco Antonio Barreras and Erik Morales'- not guys with 9 losses and not a SINGLE win. That's more than a chump fighter- that's a ****ing joke fight. Can someone else back me in saying people are getting excited about this guy WAY to soon? He's a product of good handlers- a fighter built by hype. Take him for what he is.

A guy with power and yet not real experience against even a 'B' level fighter. ****....maybe not even against a 'C' level fighter. FAR too soon to even speak of him fighting Pac-man. Let's see him in the ring with someone who has a decent record first, alright? ****.

I'd also like to point out, just for example, Valero's American fight against Emmanuel Ford- Ford has been knocked out 6 times in the 1st round. Edwin was not alone. Think they knew?

Now ive only had limited resources to study on the guy (youtube videos)... but anyone with half a brain can see that this guy would be chewed up and spit out by Manny. He's too green, Valero just doesnt have the tools right now.

If I was handling Valero I wouldnt put him in with an elite fighter until he at least learns to put up defense.
