This fight won't happen unless the WBC orders a purse bid. They suspended the first date for a purse bid because of the litigation. I doubt they'll ask for another until it's decided. Meanwhile, Barrera is free to fight whomever he pleases and Manny has to wait on the sidelines.

I'm sure Barrera wants this fight but I don't know if Oscar is willing to make it without it going to purse bid.

I don't know if Pac KNOWS he won't fight Barrera now, I'm sure Arum promised him a Barrera rematch (and many other things he probably won't deliver).

When this situation first arose, people were saying Pac is a great fighter but a little short intellectually. Well then doesn't it make sense that Arum seduced him into siding with him, hoping that gives him leverage in court? It SHOULDN'T, but it may. I can't sign with Cingular for a one-year deal, then two months later sign with Verizon and then tell the court that I prefer Verizon...it's too late.

So, in other words, this isn't over with just yet.

About the only interesting fight Arum can get Pacquiao is Valero, and that would appeal to hardcore fans only, because mainstream fans have no idea who Valero is.

pacquiao does not need the barera rematch. its barera who has somethin to prove to pac. im actually more in favor of a pac jmm fight rather than pac-mab but i hope it happens anyway. i hope they can put their personal differences aside and make money

It's now Pac and Arum calling him out with the offer of 2.5 million plus a share of the PPV money with a specified date, if GBP REFUSES THIS then GBP is showing it's true color. I thought De La Hoya said in the past that GPB is out there to help the sport.

Barrera would not earn as much money in fighting JMM but GBP will earn from both sides. And I guess there no question when it comes to who is the bigger name between Pac and JMM. . . let's see how GBP will play this out.
