Is Pernell Whitaker the greatest of all-time?

Seriously. Hes in my oppinion the greatest Lightweight of all-time but im talking about pound for pound being possibly the greatest fighter ever. He got robbed in 3 of his biggest fights lets not forget....look at Whitakers record and give him the wins over Ramirez,De La Hoya, and Chavez....i think the case can be made hes the best we ever seen.

No. Great fighter but not the greatest. Could he beat Kid Gavilan? No.

yes he is, top 20 greatest pound for pound boxer of all time, sweet pea never got truly beaten until he's 35 when he faced tito trinidad, he even won his 4th.title at 154lbs dominating julio cesar vasquez, who was coming off a win over future pound for pound winky wright, he would also beat terry norris had they fought.

Norris was a bad man. I give Whitiker a chance against Norris but Norris could box and he fight in the inside or at a distance. Didn't have the greatest chin and for that...though whitiker didn't have a ko punch he could get a fighters respect.

Plus, I had W.Rivera beating Whitiker the first time and the second time.

I think Duran is probably the best Lightweight of all time. Duran's combination of power, speed and chin, is also coupled to a deceavingly slick defense. He came at you hard but he did it with smarts not just bull rush in. Duran had the complete skill set.

            1. Roberto Duran is the greatest LW of all time
            2. Whitaker had one of the best defense in the sport and could be mentioned as a top20-25 p4p-boxer.

people that doubt robert duran as the greatest lightweight of all time and try to put whitikar and mayweather over him at that weight clearly have ignored 1970-79 or they're completely unaware of the carnage duran caused in those years at lightweight ...
this man beat everybody ...you never hear "oh what would have been if duran didnt fight this guy but fought that guy" ...you dont hear about it !

Pernell isnt the greatest of all time. When u mention the greatest of all time....the name Pernell just doesnt have that ring to it. Like, Duuurrraaannn, Raaayyy Leeenooorddd. But he was very good ole witaker.
Duran is the greatest lightweight. But didnt Kirklaind laing do a number on him. Oh but Kirk was a welter werent he?
