i'm not trying to downgrade Manny's intelligence, but he still needs guidance from other people (Finkel, Salud, Gacal, Roach, etc.).... it's just unfortunate that some of them are just concerned to fatten their pockets and not with the long-term development of Manny's career.... it's sad....

This favors Golden Boy Promotions tremendously, in my eyes. They'll have three fights, instead of two, that should be PPV sellers.

Were the court case not in the way, the course would have been:

First fight- Pac/Barrera, then, second fight, Pac/Marquez. The third fight, Barrera-Marquez, shan't sell as much as there won't be a title at stake (assuming that Pacquiao wins both.)

      Instead, they may get:

      1. MAB-Marquez
      2. MAB-Pac (if Marquez loses to MAB)
      3. Pac-Marquez (even if Marquez loses to MAB, it still shall be a seller because of the controversial draw in Pac-JMM I)

      Or, they can also get:

      1. MAB-Marquez
      2. Pac-Marquez (if Marquez wins over MAB)
      3. MAB-Pac (can still sell because fans have been screaming for it for years; moreover, it seems it was their first meeting that started the so-called Mexico-Philippines rivalry.)

A MAB-Marquez meeting without a title at stake may sell but it shall be Mexican vs. Mexican, and shan't be fueled by the type of passion that has been shown as can be generated by Pacquiao going up against a Mexican star. MAB-Marquez in early 07 is timely, in my opinion. To delay that may rob it of its possible money-making attributes.

This is not saying that I like the way things are going. I'll just take whatever comes. And if that means MAB-JMM first... by all means.

What Pacquiao did cannot be undone. The mess has to be dealt with in some fashion. The court may have to decide or it may be resolved out of court. Whichever way, it may take some time.

If in the meantime, GBP milks the situation, I won't begrudge them. Promotions companies are there to make money. If the situation has given GBP a better chance at making more money than they would have had, that's fine with me.
