"Today's" viewer seems not to have to much patience...everything is about "Now", "Speed"...It's a shame beacuse everthing is deluted.
The Romans actually became like this with the progression of the games they had...people wanted more violence, faster blood shed, etc.
It's the difference between reading a Novel and watching a movie about the Novel.
More people just want to see the Highlights, nothing else...no build up.
This is also why we are impatient when it comes to war and different than Rome in her prime: If Rome had to stay 11 years to finish something, they would...now, in America, if something goes a few years, people flip out.
