Flamboyant junior welterweight Paulie "The Magic Man" Malignaggi may be best known for his flashy showboating and slick tongue, but we had a chance to get a peek inside the heart and character of Malignaggi this past June. Paulie Malignaggi: "I got to start working with my new trainer, Buddy McGirt. Atleast it's given me time to get everything down-packed. You go to a new trainer and you want to get the fundamentals of what he teaches down, so I've had a few extra months to atleast get that down-packed. Obviously, the recovery phase, I needed a few extra months anyways. Other than that, I'm just real excited to come back. After awhile, you get antsy anyways."

He's looking at a lot of guys right now at 140, particularly Ricardo Torres and Soulemayne M'Baye. Those guys are pretty big punchers so it makes it a little risky for him at 140. I think he'll improve much with his new trainer.Comment

I wasn't sure what he had in him before the Cotto fight, I knew he could box but I wasn't sure if he could box well enough with his hands. The Cotto fight made me really respect not just his balls but his skills as well.Comment
