Mayweather was unstoppable at 135! Dominating any and all with power and speed the full package. When he made the jump to 140 he had a great fight with Demardus Corley and for the first time in his career seemed to get caught and stunned. Still overall he dominated Corley and dominated his other 2 fights brutalizing Gatti. 140 could be looked at as potentially his his best suited weight. think of the far superior match ups he could have had.Too bad for boxing fans if he continues to box with his current style of hit and run pot shot offense.

That's a bit of a stretch. Mosley was FAR more dominating at 135, and if Mosley would have stayed at the weight, he possibly could have gone down as one of the greatest lightweights ever. A lot of people actually have Molsey in their top 10 greatest lightweights ever.
Mosley went from 135 to 147, with a record of 31-0, 29KOs.
He won the title from Phillip Holiday, and then defended the title 8 times before moving up, winning all 8 by KO, against top ten contenders. -
Yeah i dont get that why he completely skipped 140...That's a bit of a stretch. dream fight*** de la hoya vs moseley at 135 in '97 instead of 147 in 2000.....That's a bit of a stretch. as far as saying mayweather was dominant at 135 aside from the moseley perspective id say duran was much more dominant at 135 and anther good example would be leonard and hearns at 147, aside from each other they murdered everyone in the division..... man it musta been awesome to be a boxing fan when these guys were fighting each other... plus hagler ( a guy satisfied with his dominance at one weight)
plus leonard knocked out the original floyd mayweather

Mosely skipped 140 because his goal was to fight DLH which he did. He had 1 tuneup fight at 47 & fought DLH & won.Comment
