Achilles, maybe we have a different definition of thug, but Mayweather, nor Toney fit my description of thug, nor does Malignaggi (SP on that one). Judah is a thug, he acts like a thug in the ring (intentional low blows, choking a referee, etc) and he acts and dresses like a thug outside the ring, as well, with the sorts of trouble that he gets into.

Mayweather is a flash, ****y, arrogant jackass, but he's not really a thug as far as I can tell. Malignaggi is an Italian from Jersey, that's just how Guidos are. He's more thuggish than Mayweather is, though. Toney is similar to Mayweather, in my eyes.

I don't know if that was all said before, because I didn't read the thread, but I think you're using the wrong word here.

I think he's being called a racist because of previous comments about not liking "thugs" & the way he talked about Hitler. In my opinion, anyone who has anything to admire about Hitler has some serious issues. I don't care what kind of genius he was, motivater or master mind manipulator he was. For what the man stood for HATE & executed countless thousands of innocent people is de****able. Trying to see the good or whatever in a man that was so evil is disgusting. He would've had alot of posters on these boards that weren't blonde hair/blue eyes (including you Kid) executed for not sharing those traits.

I definitely agree with you. Hitler wasn't a genius at all; he was insane & knew how to speak publicly. That's one person that shouldn't be admired for anything. That's like admiring the Satan (if you believe in religon).

Some of my favorite fighters, Sam Peter, Edison Miranda, Lamon Brewster, Danny Williams, etc are black but I just can't go for the thug thing. It's against almost everything I stand for to be so flashy and materialistic and to condone casual violence with guns.

This does not make me a racist. I just don't like that lifestlye/image.

Boxing is the hardest sport in the world and fighters come from numerous backgrounds etc... You don't have to like the attitude and lifestyles of the fighters that you have listed, but you'll always get these kind of fighters, that is the nature of the business. If you don't agree with the attitude, image, lifestyle etc of these fighters that doesn't make you a racist. It's just your opinion.

Having read through most of this thread i think that one or two people are wrong to label Kid Achilles a racist. I'm not trying to defend him or indeed imply that he is not a racist as i don't know him personally, but IMO there is no evidence, in his post starting this thread, to give the impression that he is a racist. For instance, how can someone be accused of being racist for not agreeing with the attitudes, images etc of certain black fighters, but actually state that he is a fan of other black fighters?
Not everyone agrees with the way some fighters carry themselves, but that doesn't make them a racist, and my initial thought was that maybe Kid Achilles posted the line 'I'm not a racist but...' because he felt that some may have attempted to label him a racist if he didn't.

Also, on the subject of men hitting women... I can't agree with those who have posted that it isn't always clear what happens behind closed doors etc.
IMO a man should never hit a woman regardless of the circumstances. A man should be a ****in man and walk away, especially a man who earns his living as a professional fighter!
