Yah he was pretty roided up in that fight. Too much bulk which slowed him down after the 7th round. Oscar's cup was extremely high in that fight though...I mean even Lampley and Merchand mentioned it a few times. Surprised Varga's corner didnt say anything. His cup was almost up to his pectorals.

First of all, anyone posting that De La Hoya took a dive against Hopkins has got to be deliberately trying to wind someone up! If not then they are extremely ****in clueless!
Also, De La Hoya hasn't lost all the big fights that he's had i.e. he has beaten Jimmy Bredahl, Rafael Ruelas, Julio Cesar Chavez, Javier Castllejo, Pernell Whitaker, Fernando Vargas, Ike Quartey, and Ricardo Mayorga. These IMO were big fights.

i agree 100% with the first part
But the second, let me clear up what i ment, big fight against a young live fighter who would be lookin to win just as much or more than him, Jimmy deff aint this Ike wasnt that big a fight for him i thot oscar would win much easyer than he did Ricardo was older, had been in a few wars now, not really ment to be at that weight, wasnt really a big fight cos it was just a "comeback" fight....im think floyd just has what it takes to beat him, and i think floyd beats everyone oscar has fought as well

face it fellas....the golden boy took a dive...no in a sense for money but in a sense that he knew a beatdown was coming and picked the perfect spot to just stay down.....how can you **** the ring like he did while being hurt to the body?.....looks pretty clear to me........

Yes he did. I've watched the BHOP / DELAHOYA fight 6 times and I'm still certain that he took a dive. No way that punch landed flush...no way.

Just because you have watched it, and you think that it didnt land flush, and you think it was a drive, doesnt mean its a dive

He was losing on the cards.

Hopkins was ahead 79-73 and 78-74 on two cards. One guy had DLH winning.

it should be even match cuz oscar himself came from 135 weight class to 154 lbs he is not a natural super welterweight put it that way, hopkins is a natural middleweight or super middleweight, and i think oscar did not take a dive
