I'm pretty sure most British fans will be rooting for Cal when he fights Manfredo in UK.
Warren is to blame for wrecking boxing in this country by switching over to Sky. When Calzaghe won the title, it was on PPV at about 2 in the morning (because when Eubank replaced Collins, they made Eubank's fight the main event - much to Naz's annoyance), and nobody knew that Eubank was fighting because he took the fight at 10 days notice - if that was on prime time ITV, Calzaghe flooring Eubank like he did and winning spectacularly (against EUBANK, an A-list celeb), he'd of been a superstar there and then. The next morning, in the papers it was all about how good Eubank was as a loser - Calzaghe was nothing more than 'the young opponent'.

Calzaghe sells-out in Cardiff with tickets much lower-priced than London prices, but he's never come close to selling out any venue in England. Manfredo is a much bigger name, The Contender was watched by millions on ITV1 - Calzaghe's fights were watched by a couple of hundred thousand on Sky.

Most English fans will be rooting for Manfredo, Calzaghe is simply not liked by English boxing fans (not just because of his promoter, but because he's Welsh), he's been boo'd out the building in England a number of times - whereas Manfredo got a great reception when he was introduced to the crowd at the Audley-Williams/Amir Khan card this month.

        Can Hopkins win?

Hopkins is a brave man; Clazaghe is a monster, a dragon to be specific. I guess Hopkins has decided to skip his alcohol addiction of fake retirement by going straight to the heroin. Calzaghe is going to make his 42 year old a** fight, fight, fight. He better eat his wheaties and drink some Aaron Pryor juice if he wants to take the Welshman..

The British fans? They would line up for any gimmick.. Please. They see the humor in this matchup. There will be more laughs than claps. Manfedo is already saying boxing isn't his #1.. I guess he thinks he'll replace Clay Aiken as the next superstar Idol if his fight game ends up in the 99 cent store.

Them Brits are now the trend setters, the creators of entertainment for the globe. Every TV program on US lineups are direct franchise of UK originals. Then the US gets the credit.

Manfredo will sell. They love to see Americans get smacked. They have us outclassed. UK, my respect- straight from California!

Quit it with the bannanas at the soccer matches. That is terrible..

Can't go along with that. Calzaghe is too square-on - Hopkins will land the lead right hand (of which is the best I've ever seen in the sport) and counter right hand alnight long. The only way Calzaghe can win this fight is on workrate. A Jones Jr fight would of been cool at some point down the years, but again Calzaghe would of had very little chance of winning that one - he'd of done well to come out of it in one piece, Jones Jr would of taken him out. But Calzaghe's heart is twice as big as Jones Jr's and Hopkins's put together, that's the difference between him and those, Calzaghe was always willing to fight the best and those guys weren't, and Calzaghe's fights were always exciting wars (when his hands held up) whereas those guys literally put you to sleep.

                  Hopkins is my man.

But do you want to see a fight, or a chess match.

Hop told us who he was when he fought JT. He's not Mike Tyson. He's a crafty strategic shake and bake. Calzaghe is going to jump on Bernard. Watch.

What has Hopkins ever done to suggest he wants to fight, fight?

He likes winning, not fighting. He likes talking.

Yeah. Chris Eubank was the originator of the ring entries and the TV contracts and the lining up title defenses and the "I'm a businessman", then the American's and German's tried pulling it off but failed miserably by contrast.

                    It's sad.

You're kidding. Square on? Calzaghe can turn his opponent like a flamenco dancer. He's all over the place with a right lead artist. You think he's going to stand there?

Hopkins will pick his shots, Calzaghe will breathe fire all night. Calzaghe will be in fight or flight panic mode. And he's focused in that zone. Hopkins doesn't have the work rate.

You think he's going to freeze a brawler like Calzaghe? Bernard can't get in Joe's head. Bernard will save face but not the contest.

                      Calzaghe by dec.
