Hopkins: "Forget Taylor, Jones. Calzaghe Fight Me!"

I suppose there are people who think Jermain Taylor is the dominate force in the middleweight division. Others believe in Winky Wright's ability- and hope to see him take the crown.
There are quite a few, though, who stand behind Joe Calzaghe. Sure, he has his detractors like every other fighter- but I hear quite a few saying he is the man to beat at super middleweight/ middleweight.
Jermain Taylor's main argument for being the dominant force at his weight is that he beat the reigning champion- Hopkins- twice. So...let's be realistic and narrow this down.
Jermain Taylor and Joe Calzaghe are probably the two big dogs at their respective weights who could slide a bit up or down to face each other. Jermain Taylor got his crown by beating Hopkins....to really back Joe it would be nice for him to do the same. If Calzaghe can beat Bernard then he has one of the same credentials that make people back Jermain (other than the belts).
Wouldn't that make a huge middleweight fights? Calzaghe has beaten Bernard, so has Jermain Taylor- now only the two of them remain and they battle it out to determine who is the man between the two of them.
Sounds like a quality boxing fight to me- if and when Calzaghe beats Hopkins for him to tackle Taylor in a championship fight.

The only thing that i see stopping this is maskaev. Anyone know how close that fight is to coming off? Calzaghe Hopkins would be an intersteing fight but I dont know if it would be a real barn burner.

if frank warren thinks Joe Calzaghe is the mutha***ing man he should have no problem negotiating and meeting terms with Hopkins and make this fight happen.
if this fight doesn't happen i think it will be because of frank "stingy" warren and i think that he is going to put blame on Hopkins for not making it happen, saying that Hopkins priced himself too high, and that hopkins was unwilling to negotiate this and that, basically the same frank warren crap, thus futher protecting his fighter, then warren is going to sign another fight for calzaghe against some fringe contender and call it a real fight, blah, blah, blah. warren's style and way of things are extremely obvious now. he's the don king of europe, only thing is don would make fights actually happen.
hopkins needs to get the whole heavyweight thing out his head and focus on calzaghe, there is more importance in a fight with Joe C. then there is against Oleg M.

Taylor, twice
Roy Jones, once
Clinton Mitchell, once by MD (in his debut where he earned the whooping sum of US$350)
Hop also has one NC. The fight against Robert Allen for the IBF Middleweight title in 1998 was stopped in the 4th after Hopkins sustained an injury. Ref Mills Lane, breaking a clinch, accidentally pushed Bernard out of the ring.
I don't know that Calzaghe ever met Hopkins but I sure would like to see them do so.

I'm sorry, but when did this happen? I thought Bernard lost only four times to three people:

It made sense taken in context of the post. I wasn't saying Joe had beaten Bernard in reality.

And there's no way in hell Taylor vacates the title to move up in weight.
