Floyd Mayweather is well on his way now, because he's getting into the ring with de la hoya. If he wins this fight, which I think he won't, he could then fce Mosley, and Wright and have a great finish to his career and rank up there all time. The problem with that is I don't think he can beat either Oscar or Winkey, although I think he has the right style for Shane at 147. What he could do after oscar is stay at welterweight and fight someone to defend his title and then wait on cotto or hatton who will eventually have to face him. The cotto fight just got a lot more interesting at 147 and the hatton one would be good too, all that has to happen is cotto, hatton and mayweather staying undefeated which will be tough because they all have tough fights lined up.

Basically what i was trying to say is that floyd's competition of late has lagged a bit but he can still finish real strong and live up to his talent.

well i just woke up and am having a finely rolled joint so while im in a good mood i'll try to make amends with horsemen and mr perfect...

when i watched floyd mayweather torture arturo gatti i thought wow this guy is perfect he has everything to be like a super fighter ... untouchable

and i THOUGHT gatti would be his gateway to the stars ...kind of a "look whos in the big boy chair now *****!" ...kinda like that

but since then all hes beaten is judah baldimer and mitchell ... now someone with his skill level and **** does not ...D-O-E-S N-O-T belong in the ring with any of those guys

he needs to be fighting the best ...not the rest

you guys see where im comming from? ... all my disapointments in this guy lie soley in his choice of people to fight

yeah its hattons fault yeah its mosleys fault ... yes i agree BUT

when you got a guy like margarito begging you for a fight when you know damn well people are gonna wanna see that instead of you do the hokey pokey for 12 rounds with baldimer ...YOU TAKE THE ****ING EXCITEING FIGHT!!!!!!!! for the love of god floyd whos your damn match maker

he gets an oppertunity to be in an exciteing fight or even the hype leading up to the fight would have been more exciteing ...sure as hell more exciteing than the baldimer fight

so you guys see where im comming from now? ... i just wish the guy would use his ****ing talent right instead of fighting these hasbeens

Trimble, you have a right to be disgusted.

I'm a Floyd appreciator but the guy has not done right by us: the people who pay for all those flashy cars and ***els he boasts about and shows us on MTV cribs..

He makes no secret of his desire for riches/already aqcuired. Then he wants to retire? He hasn't even gotten started yet silencing the critics.

His own sense of reality doesn't match his accomplishments.

Floyd is a fraud so far: BECAUSE he is so good.

I have little respect for Jermain Taylor but I wish Floyd would take a suggestion from Taylor's fearless approach to opposition.

How great would Floyd be if he had already knocked off Margarito and Hatton?

You're more aggressive and confrontational than I would be on this point but I do agree. I feel cheated by Floyd's choices.
That being said, facing De La Hoya might sort him out a bit. I shall withhold judgement until I see the fight as to how Floyd handles it (and what state DLH is in) but it is in Floyd's power to win me over. I just doubt that he will.
Moving up in weight only impresses me if you face all comers at the weight, not face hand-picked soft touches.
If you do face mediocre opponents however, at least entertain us and show us your greatness. RJJ may have taken some easy routes but he damn well showed us some entertaining **** whilst fighting them.
PBF versus Gatti was at least like that. I almost forgave him for facing Gatti due to his manner of victory. Other than that I've been dissappointed.

Mitchell was a tune-up for Judah while he tuned up with Baldomir. Judah was the undisputed champ at 147. He had all the meaningful belts, when he got upset by Baldomir for lack of focus everyone wanted him to still fight Judah not Baldomir. he destroys Judah and then destroys Baldomir for the RING belt. Judah is in his class skill wise, but he lacks the mental capacity of Floyd. Baldomir was not, but he was the true champ and the right $$$ was offered. How can you criticze a man for fighting the RING champ? Margarito had no significant belts and if they fought, it would be Baldomir 2. The guy was getting dealt wit by JOSHUA CLOTTEY who has nowhere the skills of Floyd. Do you honestly think he would have been a challenge? FLoyd doesn't run either. He boxes and circles his opponent, he hardly ever goes straight back and uses his mobility to box. That is called the SWEET SCIENCE!!! Who are these best that he needs to face, what TAylor and Winky who are currently at 160 plus? Who does he need to fight, who are these best?

dude he won every round, boxing ain't just KO. A lot of people like to see skillful fighters break down other fighters. Plus add to the fact that he is way smaller than these guys he is boxing, that is pretty extraordinary and I've never seen a true 130 lb fighter move all the way up to 154 lbs convincingly with lil struggle against champions, legit champions who won their belts and respect in the ring. it was boring to me, I seen a lot of clean shots land flush and great maneuvers and counterpunching, it was boring to me. And in every fight, the fighters he is gonna get KO, Baldomir said he was going to knock Floyd out and this would be easier than judah, every fighter says that so be mad at all the fighters if that is your logic. You should of started a thread saying why do all these fighters say they are going to get KO and don't instead Floyd bashing thread. And by the way, Floyd with his brittle hands has 50 % KO rate at 140+
