    Lacy... out for a year?

I read this in the "whispers" column of trade paper Boxing News. Apparently he's rumoured to require extensive surgery on a torn rotator cuff.

I guess that puts the jury still out on his last controversial win. He was either incredibly brave to carry on with such an extensive injury and engage in a fight where it wasn't a complete robbery for him to get the verdict, or he's mentally not the same man he was, and might never be again.

Same injury as Vitaly against Byrd, it will also most likely plague him for the remainder of his career.....Sad.

Rotator Cuff injury in anything where your arm is moving in an unnatural motion at all times will hurt your career permenently, its a common injury in baseball that most players dont ever come back from successfully, how he finished the fight with that injury is beyond me.

Its possible, on adrenalin and will and if you dont know what kind of injury you sustained. I presume, it was not torn thus he could more or less lift the hand.

Rotators cuff injuries are often brought about by heavy benching. Now take a look at Lacy's physique and tell me he doesn't bench heavy. Looks like weights may have, in this case, actually damaged a fighter's career.

PS I am for weighttraining by boxers, but not training like a powerlifter and maxing out on the bench like guys like Rahman do.

Thats why Vitali "quit" when he realized its gone. And thats why he still became champ.

And the so called heart and balls of Lacy will end his stint in boxing. All those balls for nothing eh?

Maybe he just took in too much of the praise he was getting.

A guy like him can technicaly get quite far. He can take some shots, he is very strong, he can punch very hard. That alone can get you far.

However they made him to believe that he is the **** and just went in thinking guys are going to drop due to his presence alone.

They shoulda took it slow and refine his skills. But they didnt. And now he'll never beat an elite fighter like Larry said.

9 fights and 1 loss after the injnury and a number of titles including WBC. If tahts a bad example then I dont know what a good one is.
