Rocky is a bit overrated fighter. Yes he has a good 1 punch KO against bums.. he couldnt even make Barrera / Velasquez sit in the the canvass...

Juarez's last stoppage victim before facing Barrera was Backlin Medrano who was stopped by Frankie Zepeda in his fight immediately preceding the Juarez match. Stopping a guy who had recently been stopped is not exactly something one exults about.

Before Medrano, Juarez KOd Rey Hurtado who had been stopped in four of his five outings immediately previous to the Juarez fight. While some enthuse over Hurtado's power, nobody I know has ever raved about Hurtado's chin. To date he has lost 8 of his 12 recorded defeats by KO/TKO.

Before that, Juarez KOd Juan Carlos Ramirez who was last heard of as having been stopped by an old Kevin Kelley in 2. Juarez managed to do that one round earlier. Ramirez's claim to fame is that, while younger, he floored Popo Freitas in the second round before succumbing to Freitas' bombs in the next round.

Juarez failed to take out or even floor Joe Morales who was floored by the Joan Guzman in his SuperFeatherweight incarnation. Instead, it was Morales who floored Juarez in the third and Morales has only 4 stoppages in 19 wins (10 losses)!

With all that said, I must add that Juarez has a bit of proving to do before calling out Pacquiao, the widely regarded best of the division. The fella has three losses in his last five fights, for crying out loud. So, OK, he lost against quality opposition; but isn't it also true that Pacquiao stopped one of those two quality opponents to whom Juarez lost twice? If memory fails about this point, AIR KENG's avatar should refresh failing memory.

One does not aspire to face the best while lugging around such credentials as the one Juarez is carrying around.

Juarez calling out Guzman doesn't even wash with me. He wasn't even able to take it to Marco, what is he to do with the much quicker Guzman?

Juarez is best advised to win a few more and win big (not against the Hurtados and Medranos) before thumping his chest for Pacquiao. Failure to do so can only mean that his challenge will be taken seriously only by his most rabid fans.

That's how boxing matches should come about.
