Boxing will always be there, but if things continue over the next 5 years as they have over the last 5, then you'll see large even boxing be to the UFC what the UFC was to boxing 5 years ago.

You can only confuse people with alphabet titles and bs for so long. It was ok, as long as there wasn't another brutal fight sport alternative for people to sink their teeth into. But now there is. Boxing needs to reform itself in a major way. It's needed to for 20 years, but now the wench is tightening... at least that's what I think.

Him getting stripped is a good thing. The belt is worthless. He's better off with out it.

If boxing isn't able to get it's own national commission, with one solid champion per division again, then you're going to see it continue to fade and fade. UFC has really begun to just kick boxing's ass all over the place, and it's going to get worse with dumb **** like this. The powers that be in boxing have let this go on for so long, and everyone has dragged their feet with a national commission to the point where it's not going to even matter in a another few years.

Too right. You won't see a picture of Calzaghe these days with an alphabet title. The only title he carries is the Ring one, which given the ****ishness of the major bodies is quite right.

Titles are pretty much dead and they only have themselves to blame.

I'm all for a Boxing Commission, just like all other major sports in the US. The problem is that it would have to be an international commission, something like FIFA.

Many countries would not recognize the US belts or they'd continue with the alphabets.

I blame the fighters that have the titles: THEY NEED TO WISE UP AND THROW THE BELTS IN THE TRASH, END OF STORY.

UFC's current "champions" have both been beat by guys in pride so whats the difference. To be the best you have to beat the best and everyone should know that, no matter what the other person has around his waiste.
