tom dolan was a world class swimmer who attended the university of michigan (greatest university in the world) about 10 years ago... he swam almost every event including the individual medleys.... he was regarded as the top US swimmer and won multiple gold medals and set world records at two different olympics.... and he suffered from sever asthma.....

Can you compare any swimming competition to going 12 rounds though?

yes you can as a matter of fact, the cardiovascular strength required to be a world class swimmer or track athlete is probably equal or greater than what it takes to be a world class fighter.. in fighting if you your cardio isnt as good you can make up for it through strength, experience etc... in other sports if you suffer from asthma and your cardio fails you lose everytime... dolans asthma was well documented and extreme, certainly worse than anything briggs "might" suffer from. my point was that through preparation, both mental and physical and pure hard work he was able to almost completely negate the effects...

to swim 100 meters of all 4 strokes without stopping at a world class pace is a constant test of your breathing and cardio..... in boxing, as briggs showed, you can take a lot of breaks over 12 rounds.

Briggs has asthma...as long as your definition of asthma is no stamina due to ****ty cardio.

So is "Asthma" a myth? more of a mental thing?

So is this "Swimmer" not on medication?

That sucks and all, but I have asthma as was still able to run a 4:36 mile in high school, so Shannon should be fine.

                  Do you take medication?

For Shannon, I agree with what someone else posted, his weight is way to high...if you have breathing problems, why would you put on weight?
