Ways That You Would Improve The Sport...

I know the challenges that it faces, like MMA, but sports always change rules every year to make it a bit more exciting, as the athletes change so does the sport. but my questions is what would you change to make it better in you oppinion? I was thinking they should have a incentive based contract that states before a certain round either fighter will have to win by KO and they would get more added to thier purse. Like if you KO someone before round 5 you would get an extra 500 thousand......or a million. to some fighters this would be a huge incetive fot them to go all out. i dunno if that's dumb but what do you guys think?

I think thats a ****in great idea! not that i dont like the chess match type of fights but this could stop fighters coasting in later rounds instead of trying to close the show. It would would just ****e it up a bit i think. Yeah Gr8 idea!

It would just be a little bit of inncenative to close the show, nothing stoping them just boxing 4 the UD. Plus REAL fighters try an end the fight whenever they can anyway.

Less holding. Refs need to start taking points away from fighters that unecessarily hold when boxing. Unless they are hurt or were just knocked down, boxers shouldn't be allowed to clinch all the time. Less holding means more punching which translates into more fighting & possible KO's.

Yeah sometime you see a fight with so many clinches in it you think you're watching that gay assed UFC bull****. Very valid point.

I agree wholeheartedly, it would definately make fighters fight the last 4 rounds when usually mos are content to coast. However I think your judgment that any real fighter tries for the knockout to end the show is a bit overblown. Not all fighters have the punching power needed to KO an opponet for an emphatic win, I don't think there's anything wrong with putting on a boxing clinic and getting a UD. I don't think guys like Wright and Mayweather are any less of a fighter because they can't KO anybody decent.

I agree about the judges. I can't see how some judges get it wrong repeatedly, yet keep getting brought back to judge more fights. It makes no sense.

Also, I think boxing is hurting because the best do not always fight the best, so you don't have alot of TRUE champions.

Yup i fully agree with this aswell! This more than anything stops the casual fan from getting into boxing big time! Ive heard it in the pubs while watching fights

Too much political pull and bull**** behind the different boxing councils. Making it damn near impossible for the best to fight the best and we, the fans, ultimately end up losing because of it. It doesn't matter if a fighter is game enough to fight another champion and go title for title, in the end it's not up to the fighters anymore and that sucks ****.

Politics and boxing do not mix, at all. Politics is that one rare thing that doesn't mix well with pretty much any other combination you can think of.....it's pretty much like ass to mouth in that respect.

Less holding, better judges, and having 1 champion of the world in stead of the alphabet soup trinkets we have. Having the one org. not corrupt would be nice too. In addition to the promoters.
