Do I think Joe is serious about this fight, yes, Taylor isn't Roy Jones Jr.
But Taylor also isn't a LHW like Roy was when Calzaghe called him out.

This fight is alot easier to make, Roy would have wanted 80% of the purse anyhow.. and I doubt it would have materialised at all.

Now Taylor on the other hand has already stated that Ouma might be his last fight at 160, and he also claims that he wants to fight nothing but the best fighters, now who better than Calzaghe who is already somewhat popular among US fans to fight as your debut at the weight?

Ouma moved up to fight Taylor, there wasn't much dispute about that, and I don't think there will be if Taylor moves up to fight Calzaghe.

Joe wasn't serious...if that fight were to happen, even at James's age and weight, he would destroy Joe.

That was out of humor, most likely regarding the comments that JT made before Calzaghe's fight with Lacy.

You can't take that seriously at all.

True enough but I just can't see Taylor getting KO'd. Maybe he'd eat canvas at some point in the later rounds but he'd get up, I have no doubt about that.

Trust me, the only way Calzaghe stops Taylor is on cuts.

Who cares, Roy was also a fighter that moved from 160 up, NO?

Isn't this about "Legacy"? what better fighter to fight than Roy in his prime.

It's not about Percentage of the purse, as much as it is how much you are getting to fight. Joe would of been able to get at least 1 million+

Even Bernard cleared out his division before demanding fighters from the lower weight classes move up.

Taylor's chin does seem to be solid and I can't seem him being knocked out by Joe either if he still has gas left in the tank.

I don't know, maybe moving up to 168 will help with his stamina; making 160 might be draining him to much.

When Roy was at 160, Calzaghe had only turned pro, Roy moved up to LHW in 1996 before Calzaghe had even become world champion, I don't entirely know what your argument is about, and I don't know if I'm for it or against it.. but it's still irrelivant to the fact that Taylor and Calzaghe should be materialised.

Point: Roy and Calzaghe should of fought...Calzaghe kept talking that he wanted to fight Roy, even after Roy beat the crap out of Woods, but the fight never happened...it is reminding me of Hatton and Mayweather Jr.

                    Lennox never did this.

So it's Calzaghe's fault that the fight never materialised?

Listen, Roy was one of the hardest fighters on the planet to negotiate a fight with when he was ontop, not even Hopkins could get him in the ring, who at that time was considered the second best fighter in the world, you can in no way shape or form blame Calzaghe for that, seeing as we hardly know anything about the negotiations, all we know is that there were talks but nothing happened.

And you can't blame Calzaghe if Jermain Taylor continues to fight at 160, how in Gods name would that be his fault?
